Dancing with NED
I got my Ultrasound and mammogram reports this morning and I am very happy to be dancing with NED. They did find some scattered calcificatios and "post surgical changes" at the operative site that were deemed "benign" I wish they were not there at all but I was assured the changes were common and not unexpected. Anyone…

How many of you ended up with a seroma?
And what did you do about it? Did you get it drained? If I go and get it drained by my surgeon will it help with the pain in my breast? Please say it will cause I'm thinking maybe I should try and get in to see him. Or heck maybe I could go to the er at the navy hospital tonight. hmmmmmmmmm If they go away on their own how…

Headaches a year after chemo?
I'm new to this site, but I'm hoping to get some info about side effects from chemo. I finished chemo a year ago, radiation 10 months ago and my PET scan was clean last Fall after surgery and chemo. I started having headaches first thing in the morning a few months ago, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Now I'm…

I have Tamoxifen side effects; what's your opinion?
Well, crap. A positive outlook only sets you up for being let down. I struggled with the decision to take Tamoxifen and gave in with the thought (and suggestion fro the onc) that if I didn't like it, I could stop taking it. Immediately after beginning it (Nov. '09) my normal menopause hot flashes ramped up their intesity…

If not for VickiSam
then going to Rite-Aid would have been the usual ordinary experience. But because VickSam is a lovely generous person, I set my purchases (tons of calcium) on the counter along with my pink ribbon key ring that VickSam gave each one of us at the Southern California RE Union. The woman said, "Are you a breast cancer…

Did anyone else
watch football yesterday??? Every football team had some kind of pink displayed. It was awesome to see so much support for breast cancer awareness. Players were wearing pink shoes, pink gloves, there were pink bc banners/posts/clothing, etc. Go pink warriors! Char

Good Inexpensive Wigs Fast
My sister and I survived breast cancer for the past 7 years, but now she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. We both gave our wigs away after the chemo did it's job. YEAH! But now my poor sis needs a short brown wig to cover her head. She had 3 treatments last week so in two weeks she will be bald again. Can anyone help?…

Does the pain/discomfort ever go away?
I am just about to walk out the door to get to my radiation appoointment, I am not having radiation today, it is to set everything up and get started. But this Wednesday it will be 3 weeks since my lumpectomy and I still constantly have to wear a bra, and even in the shower I have to hold my boob in place.…

Send me Good Wishes for Tomorrow
Well, I am off for another Brain MRI tomorrow to see if they can find why I am still having so much pain in the left side of my face. This is a new group, and I am going to see a Neurosurgeon this time after the MRI. Cross your fingers that they at least can find what is causing the pain, and we can fix it. I will post…

I finished my Chemo!
I am so happy that today was my last chemo infusion. Hoooorrayyyy!!!! I have completed 4 x AC and 12x Taxol/Herceptin. I still have to go every 3 wks for Herceptin to complete a year. Has anyone experience any side effects with just the herceptin alone? I have been doing fine with the Taxol/Herceptin combo so far. Thank…

Tears at the gym
So today was my first day back at my gym. And I felt so overwhelmed when I was on my treadmill with a good book, ready to roll, that I cried. I would have never thought that I would cry for joy for being able to go to the gym. Go figure! Ayse

Tamoxifen Brain - true or made up
I used to be able to remember everything, multitask and keep my entire schedule in my head. It was easy to keep track of life. Now I feel as if I am falling apart. I have whiteboards on the back door to see what I am doing that day before I walk out of the door. I have forgotten appointments, etc. You get the drift. I have…

HELP!!!!
My wife has been vomiting for the past 2 days and yet her pain has taken over her entire body, it seems that the increase in pain medication is not helping, yet it is like her body can't take that much medication. I called ONC and asked her if I should take my wife to ER, and she said "YES," but my wife does not want to go…

Gout?
Do I remember reading that someone on zometa had gout? My right big toe is killing me and I am not sure what that is about?? I have to work tomorrow, but, if it persists, will call my primary on Tuesday. It seems unlikely that I would get gout because I don't drink, rarely eat meat, am not overweight, but then, EVERYTHING…

Anyone experienced this?
For the past several weeks I have had pain in my lower left abdomen, just about over the pelvic bone--not in the joint. It is approximately an area of 4 inches from my waist down. It is worse when I get up from sitting; sometimes very bad until I take several steps. I tried a heating pad, but it didn't make any difference.…

I Did It - Walked the Susan G. Komen 5K Today!
I've done this walk in Baltimore for the last 8 years. However, this was my first walk as a survivor!!!! It was kind of emotional. Usually, it is just my sister & I that walk every year. Two years, my son and daughter-in-law walked with us. This year my husband, my youngest son and his fiance, my two sisters, two…
