Complications from surgery
Sisters..... I was in the ER yesterday. I was having pain where there are no nerves. Well they informed me that the ps may have removed too much around the nipple and as a result there is not enough blood flow. Basically my skin is dying. We are applying antibiotics and are waiting too see if it dies completely. Of that…

Terrified!!!
I have my last chemo treatment on Thursday (did chemo before surgery). My surgery is at the end of August and I get physically ill when I think about it. Does this go away???? I also feel like they should do more chemo...just in case!

Is traditional cancer treatment a big scam?
I'm so confused. I've been reading so much about nutrition and alternate therapy. Doctors, pharmaceuticals and hospitals would all go "bust" if the nutrition way was given. Anyone else have thoughts on this, or do you think surgery, chemo, radiation is the best way? I don't know what to believe anymore.

OK God, you owe me this
I have been a big girl. Only cried twice, 6 minutes at dx and an hour or so at severe back pain from neupogen shots. I think you at least owe me one or two of the following: take away 1 chin, one belly roll and/or a couple wrinkles. Is that too much to ask? Cindy

Plugged Drain??
Ladies, overall I'm doing well. However, my drain on the right side seems "plugged". Very little drainage is coming out as compared to the other side. I'm not dizzy, no swelling, fever, nausea etc. I do have what appears to be a blood clot in the collection bulb. I called the 24 hour nurse and was told to follow up on Monday…

Reconstruction
Has anybody had implants after radiation. I was under the impression that when all of this was over, I could choose implants as an option. The surgeon who is doing my mastectomy at the end of August told me he didn't think the plastic surgeon would do implants after my radiation was over. This whole thing has been such an…

This is going to be a short but sweet post, I came home from the hospital today & am so glad to be in my comfy bed, but I'm soooo tired! Never know where you will meet a bc survivor
You just never know where you will meet a bc survivor. I was out shopping yesterday at a little boutique called AT THE BEACH. My daughter had gotten me a gift certificate for Mother's Day so that when I was able to go back to water aerobics I could get a new swimsuit. While I was trying some on the sales lady noticed that…

Ayse and Laurissa & Juicers
Last Sunday, there was talk of juicers here; I got excited and went out and got a Healthmaster. And there it sits. If you guys have any recipes I would be really grateful. I get all these things for my kitchen and never use them. My family rolls their eyes when I bring in something new, so I'm determined to ....make juice!…

Drive thru Mastectomy?
Did anyone have one of these with a side of fries? I remember speaking to the nurse a day or 2 before my Mastectomy, asking her what I should pack for my overnight stay at the hospital. To my horror, she said that I wasn't staying overnight...WHA?!?!?!??! I mean...I was getting my boob taken OFF and I couldn't even stay…

I met New Flower today!
I wanted to share with everyone that New Flower and I met for coffee today! (We couldn't let the Chicago girls get ahead of us here in Southern California :-) It was such a delight to meet her, and to share her excitement for her new job and new home -- she's every bit as lovely in person as she is here. She starts her new…
