Frustration or is this typical?
So, I've been all over this cancer thing...surgery, chemo...and now radiation seems to have come to a stand still. Hell, the lymphedema and physical therapy is on the back burner waiting for my doctor to come back from vacation. I'm not understanding why their planning should be taking so long. I had my CT scan on the July…

Spiders
I have had a very emotional day. I was scheduled for my exchange surgery tomorrow and woke up this morning with spider bites all over my sides and back. The Dr does not want to do surgery until I am healed. So everything is on hold for now :( It seems like I am not meant to have this surgery. The Radiation Onc. wanted to…

emotional rollercoaster
I met with oncologist yesterday and he recommended chemo. I was so prepared by reading all of your posts about chemo & rads before my bilateral mastectomies. Then I had my post op and my surgeon said because the margins were clean and the lymph nodes were negative he didn't think I would need anything besides Tamoxifen.…

Hair is finally making a comeback
It's finally time I can go out without the ballcap for security. Brows and lashes are still taking their time in returning. Probably another month it will be time for that first haircut to even things out to get rid of the wispy ends.

I guess I just knew it when my doctor saw my TSH score of .04 and told me he wanted an ultrasound. I called the nurse today and she said that they do so an enlarged area on my thyroid so they are supposed to call me back today to set up a biopsy. Anyone else had this? For daily bible scripture encouragement and prayer…

If anyone kept their boy chest after a double mastectomy, give me your pros and cons
If anyone kept their boy chest after a double mastectomy, give me your pros and cons. The risks for implants are scary. One of my concerns is the availability of clothes to hold forms. I see camis are available. I worry if I try to wear a bra, it will ride up with no breasts to anchor it.

Yikes, implant complications sound scary as hell!
Just read a packet from my reconstruct doc about implants (which is my only reconstruct option). It scares the hell out of me! The risks outlined for implants have me more scared than my cancer. Having a double msstectomy early Aug., maybe I should keep my new boy chest.

Yes, it's me .. Icky Vicki again .. I can not contain myself .. Tips concerning prosthetic bras
I bought 4 prosthetic bras when I originally got my prosthesis in March. Since then, I have realized they just are very uncomfortable to me so today I came up with a new idea. I have really been missing my body by victoria bras from Victoria Secret. So I got an idea to put my prosthesis in a knee hi stocking and stick it…

Surgery Tomorrow
Well, tomorrow is my second mastectomy (on the same breast) in two years. I'm not nervous about the actual surgery and recovery, as I've been through it before and it wasn't too bad. But I so worried about the future. I try not to think about it. The fact that the bc recurred in the same breast after a mastectomy just is…

Breast implants
I will be undergoing bilateral mastectomy in a few weeks. My only option for reconstruction is breast implants. What are the pros and cons you have experienced? I have the information from a clinical point of view, but I would like actual life experiences. One of my biggest concerns if I choose to not have the implants is…
