Eyes, Glasses and our Sight
Ok it was confirmed to me today. Yes our vision can be affected by chemo. I was advised not to get my eyes checked or new prescription until chemo is finished. She said my eyes should improve once this treatment is completed. I'll wait and see.

I'm a newbie and scared
Today I had a PET scan done and tried not to freak, not knowing what was going to happen. Which turned out not so bad except for the needle. I'm not a needle person. I had a masectomy on my left side Oct. 21. With a Power Port placed in. Suppose to start chemo the week after Thanksgiving. I see my Oncologist Friday to find…

First Chemo went A-OK!
Well, like most people I dreaded this day and feared the worst! Granted it has only been 1 1/2 hrs since I got done but I feel fine. They gave me anti-nausea meds before chemo and sent more home with me for the next 4 days. They seem to think that the nausea will be at its worst tomorrow and the next day.. I am hoping I…

Today was the day to meet with my medical oncologist for the first time since before I started radiation.. I wasn't prepared to go to the…

The ortho asked me how my pain had been and how would I rate it from 1 to 10...10 being the worst. I told him it had been about an 8.....he hit the…

I think I'm going a little crazy....emotional roller coaster following bi-lateral mastectomies with
Just wondering if any others have gone through bi-lateral mastectomies with reconstruction and did they experience waves of emotions? I guess I didn't really expect to feel so sad about losing both my breasts in my late 40's since doing so would be saving me from those crazy cancer cells! I had to have a hysterectomy 5…

Doc's - hilarious !!
Embarrassing Medical Exams 1. A man comes into the ER and yells . . .' My wife's going to have her baby in the cab.' I grabbed my stuff, rushed out to the cab, lifted the lady's dress and began to take off her underwear. Suddenly I noticed that there were several cabs - - - and I was in the wrong one. Submitted by Dr. Mark…

Tuesday funny
A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine. 'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.' 'Pencil,'however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.' A student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?' Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the…

Today is my one-year cancerversary....
Last year, on this day, I came in to work having no idea what was in store for me. Around lunch time, the doctor who did my biopsy called me on my cell phone to tell me I had cancer. He said I should be worried because of how quickly my tumor had grown. I was floored. I remember staying at work the rest of the day in a…

Ki-67 is a test that shows them how active the cancer cells are on reproducing. If you have one hundred cells and 5 of them are reproducing your score is 5%. My two tumors are at 92% and 87%.

I don't know who we need to contact about this new ruling but we need to stand together with all the othe breast cancer…
