update
Hello everyone, I recently had my second surgery in two weeks. My surgeon had to go in and remove more lymph nodes because the first final pathology revealed that there were cancer cells in one of the lymph nodes. I got my results back today and the lymph nodes removed Monday were clean. Praise the Lord. Again, thank you…

I got my biopsy results today and the good news is it's not cancer. That's all I heard from the surgeon. I really wasn't worried about anything else until I got home and now I'm wondering what in the world does it mean?? Word for word this is what is written on the report... Cystic change with occasional ductal basophilic…

Job Interview Questions
Hi Ladies. I have a question that I don't think I have seen here before. I also p[osted this to my friends on the ovarian board. If any of you have had to switch jobs or careers, did they do background checks on you and if they did, did it include a credit report check? I am asking because quite honestly my credit is…

Twenty-three months +
I am new to this board and have never attended local groups. I am 63, my mother died of breast cancer at age 42 - I was 17 at the time. So, I always had my mammograms - In Sept, 2004 I was diagnosed with BC - stage III. It was in my lymph nodes - 20 removed, 15 positive. I had a modified radical mastectomy and chemo and…

need thoughts on reconstruction
I had a right mastectomy. Because of the infiltration of the cancer and my need for radiation I could not have reconstruction at the time of the mast. When I was told I had to have the mastectomy there was no question in my mind that I would have reconstruction. Now I am getting worried about whether or not to do it. I…

This is why we have each other
Often there are posts here about spouses, family, friends, co-workers,...who don't seem to be able to deal with our bc. What they don't seem to realize is that can**r affects not only the person with it, but everyone around them. They also don't realize that we cannot get through this alone. Some of those whom we most…

Good check ups
I had my 3 month BC check up last week and everything was fine. She did a breast exam, we went over how I was doing on the Armidex (no side effects so far) and just how I am feeling in general. And we did some blood tests that came back fine. She wants me to do my mammograms in September. I also just did my yearly…

Hi everyone, This morning my father called to tell me my mom is in the hosital. "Nothing serious," he says, "just some internal bleeding." OMG! Nothing serious?! My mom is 85, but internal bleeding at any age IS something serious. The drs said she lost 3-4 qts of blood, but they are replenishing it faster than she is…

Mane and Tail Shampoo
The PA for my radiation oncologist recommended Mane and Tail shampoo for hair growth. I just wanted to pass this along--with the caveat that she said it worked for her son after he shaved his head for some reason or other. Not sure a man's shaven head presents the same challenge as a chemo-challenged one! Anyway, you can…
