Hi Carlye...thanks for asking your onc about the tamoxifen vs. healing. I don't go til late in November, and I'm not sure when my friend goes back. She did not have chemo...she had a mucinous cancer, which is a tumor with more mucous than cancer (good for her!!). Anyway, I'll await your answer from your onc. Thanks again!…

Chemo after surgery
I had a infiltrating ductal carcinoma (1.5X1X1 size) removed with a lumpectomy on 10/24/02. The lymp nodes removed and are negitive. It has been suggested that I have having chemo then radiation. Has anyone refused the chemo and chose only radiation?

Just curious
Does anyone know if your tumor markers are suppose to go down after they remove and treat your breast cancer?

Dear Sisters, I write to you in fear of what to expect in the 7 weeks to come while my radiation is taking place. I am also on the last leg of treatment aside from Tamoxifen which I will still be taking and am very fearful of letting go. I have seven weeks to go through the process of realizing there's not going to be…

should I have lumpectomy?
I was diagnosed 2 years ago and have had radiation and chemo, but the cancer had spread to bones and liver by the time it was discovered, so they left the breast tumor in place. I have been off of chemo for 16 months and take Femara, but I have been worrying about the source tumor. It has been reduced, but it is still…

Tamoxifen
I need to know if any of you out there are going through what I am. I am on tamoxifen and my back hurts me all the time. There isn't much I can do without it hurting. I believe the tamox is causing it. I have gained about 25-30 pounds on it also. I could be hungry all the time. My husband can't believe how much I eat. I…

update on swelling and radiation
I went to my rad doc today and he said the swelling in my breast is edema from the radiation and probably isn't connected to the lymhadema in my arm. Hopefully it will eventually settle down and disappear. He did postpone my December mammograms because he said that would just aggravate the edema. I get my custom sleeve for…

tamoxifen and healing
Hi all....I have a good friend who is also a breast cancer survivor. She had a tumor removed from her wrist in July (totally unrelated to the cancer, and not malignant). They had to take a little of the bone out, and packed it with calcium and said it would heal over. The problem is that it hasn't healed over yet. She was…

I finished surgery, chemo and radiation a year and a half ago. I am taking Tamoxifen and I go to my Oncologist every three months.
