Response to Bill914
Hi there. Your information was very helpful. I do have another question though. Did you have a pleural effusion? My father has a benign pleural effusion so I may have made a mistake on his stage. If you did have an effusion, how was it diagnosed as benign? How big was the tumor in cm?Thanks

Reliability of thoracentesis
Just wondering if anyone out there has had this procedure done to determine if there was spread of cancer to the pleural space. My father just got this procedure done and the results were benign. Has anyone had to have this test more than once to prove that it was negative? Basically I am wondering about false negatives.…

brain metastic
I would like to hear from any people who have had brain tumors treated. I am just finishing the whole brain radiation treatments. Now I'm going to have either the gammma knife procedure or cyber knife. I would like to hear from anyone that has had either of these done. It's so hard to decide which way to go!

Need advice from someone who had VATS
My sister has had a nodule found in her left lower lobe and is scheduled 9/19 for VATS. They plan a wedge resection but if the immediate biopsy shows malignancy they will do a lobectomy. My question is, at what point in the post-op recovery period would it be best for me to go see her, for emotional support especially? I…

Tarceva
Does anyone know how long a patient can take Tarceva? It appears that our tumors become resistent to drugs after a while, so I'm curious to know how long this one might work. Also, has anyone had any experience with C-Statin for NSCLC? Finally, we are the orphans of the cancer club my friends. With research underfunded and…
