Scanticipation
Getting a bit anxious. My 3 ½ year follow up scans and x-ray are on Thursday then I see the doc on Friday to discuss scan results. Leaving for NY tomorrow. I wish it was next week already. Hate this edgy nervous feeling.

Thank you
i just wanted to thank everyone on this board! For the past 3 months I have been waiting to determine if a 1.5 cm mass on my left kidney is cancer. The mass was found incidentally via a CT scan looking for appendicitis. Turned out I had a severe kidney infection and for months it has been unclear if the mass is cancer or…

Don't be afraid to make waves, or a tsunami
The month of September was stressful enough with a regular CT and then a brain MRI and another CT with a possible biopsy. I started complaining with the first two days worth of screw-ups, which included a physical meeting with 2 administrators in the radiation department (who had zero power to change anything and just gave…

What Am I in For???
Partial nephrectomy (laparascopic) is booked for Nov. 7th. I know it is a long surgery and am wondering what to expect upon waking up. How are the first few days? I am thinking it will be very painful even with meds. How was the removal of the drainage tube? How many incisions for ports did you have? When did you return to…

Having kids post Wilms tumor
hello all, I am 26 years old and a 22 year Wilms tumor survivor. I am currently 7 months pregnant. I have been pretty healthy post treatment and have had a pretty easy and very healthy pregnancy so far. My question is, has anyone had similar situations and had their child tested regularly for kidney tumor after they were…

My doctor went over the report with me and i don’t remember being told this was a concern. I’ve tried to google it but not found a lot of understandable information. Diagnosos: Renal Cell Carcinoms,…

Lung biopsy result
The biopsy result is inconclusive. Is that good or bad? My oncologist suggested CT follow up in 3 to 6 months and a referral to a pulmonary surgeon for an opinion. Right now I'm still in limbo.

Feeling rather anxious today
I had a needle biopsy back in August for a lung nodule, which didn't show any signs of disease - though there was some concern that perhaps they didn't get the needle into the small nodule properly. I also developed a pneumothorax that kept me in the hospital for a week, and really threw me behind at work. But that's the…

New here.. just a few questions.
Hello, I was diagnosed with CCRCC stage 1 grade 2 and had an open partial nepherectomy on Sept 5. I am 39 years old. My urologist, who did the surgery says he got it all out and that I had clear margins so I was now NED. I haven’t been to an oncologist and I’m not sure I need one since he says he got it all out. I seem to…

wow not again.
I had what I was beleiving would be my last follow up vist did not go as expected. I was diagnosed with renal cancer in 2013. I had a partial nephrectomy on my left kidney. I had a 4cm cancerous mass removed. All of my scans have been clear up to now. This would have been 5 years. I was not expecting the news that I have…

Dreaming
So now that the surgery is booked I feel like this whole cancer diagnosis thing is becoming real. I am still waiting for the dr to call me and say they made a mistake and everything is fine. I am also waiting for them to perform the surgery and then tell me "it wasn't even a tumor." Did anybody feel this way? My mind has…

Kidney Cancer Diagnosis
Hi All, This forum has been a wealth of information -- I just had a robotic partial nephrectomy of my left kidney and a 2.2 cm mass was removed. It was graded pT1A Nx Mn/A and ISUP Nucleoar Grade 2. It was the only tumor they found on the scans and the margins were clean. I have been reading alot about the codes, PT1A…

Upcoming scans...
Hey, all, Wanted to share this past experience I just had setting up my scans for my 3rd year. This is the first time that I am on the yearly cycle, and I found it amazing that the doctors' office who follows me conveniently "forgot" to send me the usual letter reminding me to make an appointment. It wasn't until 2 weeks…

Better attitude and other lessons learned
Well, once again Fox's post from Sept 18th woke me up. I did not see it until Oct 3 or so, and I will step up and join in again. I spent the summer as a turtle. You know, head pulled in, totally under a shell hiding from life, and just existing. It hits me often anymore. Might need to up my depression meds. In any event,…

Lung nodules found on CT scan
Before I had my left radical nephrectomy last August 18, I had CT Angiogram of my abdomen and chest. I had stage 3 cancer which involved the renal vein. The lung findings were a 20mm groundglass nodule in my left lower lobe and a 9mm in my left lung. I had a follow up CT a week ago and the results were unchanged. My…

First CT scan
I had my first CT scan today sense starting 25mg infusions of Torisel and pretreating myself with curcumin for the last two months. The scan showed a lot of tumor shrinkage and no progression, although my liver AST was 111 so they are lowering my dose to 15mg until it gets better. Thank you for all the positive vibes.

Funny
Prior to my surgery in August 2016, I was a pretty heavy sleeper and snored. In fact I'd snore so loud that my kids would tease me the next day because they'd say they could hear me snoring all the way in down the hall to their bedrooms.. I also would get picked on by my wife often about my snoring. Well, after my surgery…

How quick is surgery after discovery of rcc ?
Hello. I honestly never thought I would be asking questions about cancer, esp. In the kidney but I guess you never know the path you will find yourself on. Sept 4th I asked for an X-ray of my left ribs as I had sharp pain there for several years, nothing wrong with the ribs but they found a 5cm mass on the upper lobe of my…

Surgical question
I'm scheduled for a robotic partial neph on October 19th at Vanderbilt Medical Center. I had a pre-op screening yesterday and they went over the procedure. The good news, I guess, is they said I was the healthiest patient they've seen in the past month. Not sure if that makes me feel better or not... Anyway, it was…
