Doing something for yourself.
I'll steal this thought from Iceman. ( something about vacations) Who here is not scared? Reality check..... Point is, recover and put yourself in a position to do something for yourself. Most of us have and still place our families, jobs, and responsibilities far ahead of our own needs..... Now, some call it a bucket…

KCFighter
Are you out there somewhere - lurking? Been thinking about you lately and wondered how you were doing. There are so many 'missing' people - who I used to correspond with years ago. I'm hopeful that they've just decided to spend their time someplace other than a cancer board. LizB NDY

Hi Everyone! Surgery went well. It felt like as soon as they put me out I was awake. It took 5 hours. They were able to do the sugery laparoscopically so the main incision was not as big. they did a full removal. The tumor was also pushing and attaching to another artery. Hello to all! I'm a newbie and have been reading and reading. Finally I asked my daughter for help on how to start a new topic! I am a T3a, Grade 4, 49 yr old female. The radical nephretomy removed the right kidney, which was 9 x 8.5 x 5.8 on 3/28/12. I'm wondering if anybody out there is in a clinical study for…

One week to go, my hope, dreams, and fears
Hi, In the early hours of May 1, I got the news from the ER Dr. that the CT scan showed there is nothing causing the pain, but there is a 6 cm mass on the kidney, that needs to be checked out. I knew what it meant -- my dad and grandfather also had the mass. I assumes that the surgeon would want it out ASAP (I know I did).…

Great report from scans
I had my appointment this AM and got the best news about my scans. Abdominal, chest, pelvic, and bone scans were all clear with no evidence of disease. I have been on Votrient 400mg daily for the last year and it has kept me in remission. I am off of it for 2 weeks due to slightly elevated liver enzymes and still just…

Has anyone else experienced this? They gave me some measure like 60 is normal, with one kidney…

Copay help with cancer drugs
I am wondering if any of you have found someplace to get help with the copays for cancer drugs that your insurance doesn't cover. I did find someplace that helps and will post if anyone wants the website. My husband's drug is $6300 a month and our insurance only pays $3400 so we had to find help somewhere and finally did.

Accessory spleen after nephrectomy
Dear All! My mother has a radical nephrectomy in 2010 (left kidney) because of renal cell carcinoma. In 2010 the doctors did not find any metastasis in her body. Now she had a control CT scan which shows 3 small nodules next to her spleen. The doctors do not know whether it is a metastatic or can be an accessory spleen.…

Surgery in two weeks...finally can see the end
On May 1, I heard those dreaded words that have changed my life: the CT scan shows a 6 cm mass on your kidney. I knew what it meant. I did not know anything about Renal Cell Carcinoma then, but my assumption was it comes out immediately. Dr felt differently, and medical research supports the doctor. This will be the first…

Hello. This is my first time here. The Urologist told me today that from my ct scan he is almost certain my tumor is cancer, but it looks like it has not spread. He said he can't be 100% sure until the post-op pathology report. It is about the size of a softball. The last two months have had my head spinning and some of it…
