Lung Biopsy
My husband and I saw the thoracic surgeon this morning to discuss the 2 spots on his lung. He feels that the most probable case scenario is that his jaw sarcoma has made its way to the lungs. Good news is that its very, very small and we've caught it early. The plan is a lung biopsy on Wednesday, which will require a 3-4…

I rang that BELL !!!!!!
I rang that Bell loudly...even my hubby got to ring it for me. There were tears of joy in all our eyes. And the Doc was so proud of me as he said people who do chemo/rad have a very tough time. So Bell has rung finishing that step, now to see what the scans tell us, if it is NED. I asked my hubby if he wanted to watch one…

Melanoma Survivor
Hello, everyone, I am new to this blog. For quite some time now, I have wanted to share my story. I cannot find a Melanoma Support Group in my area, so I was directed to this site. I have survived 3 Melanoma boughts: 2001, 2006, and 2013. The first was on my left shoulder; the second on the right cheek of my face; and the…

So proud of my husband!
My husband completed his 4 weeks neutron radiation treatment today. He is doing surprisingly well given the circumstances. He did have a low point during the end of third week/beginning of 4th week, when he couldn't eat solid foods anymore. However, he has since discovered the convenience of Boost VHC and is able to sort…

Hello Fellow Travelers
I went for a 7 month post checkup yesterday with my rad doc. My question is how often do you guys get scoped and Pet scans post treatment. They want to scope me every three months and I have refused the last two. For one thing it seems excessive and I wonder how much they are doing it so they can bill insurance. Secondly…

Teeth trays
Happy new year all- have a question for the veterans of the room. How often do you use your trays for your teeth. I have not used them since the end of my treatment two years ago. I finally made it to the dentist last week and had a few cavities. The dentist told me the cavities came from the root up and asked if I was…
