Low dose aspirin--oops?
I take a daily low-dose aspirin. I don't expect to change this strategy. However, I found this study interesting: Low-dose aspirin use after colorectal cancer diagnosis was not associated with improved CRC-specific survival in this large Scottish population-based cohort study. Specifically, low-dose aspirin use was…

Blood transfusion again??
Hello everyone! So this question may sound silly but I’m not too familiar with all the effects colon cancer can have on the body. My dad is constantly needing blood. He’s at his appointment as I type this. Is this part of having colon cancer or any cancer for that matter? He says he is not experiencing blood in his stool…

DH has a maintenance plan for now
DH completed his 12 rounds of Folfox, 5fu pump, and Avastin about 1 month ago. He did really well and somehow has remained positive and so strong during all of this. He still has a little neuropathy in his hands, but hasn't really caused any day to day issues. The biggest pain for him now is the blood clot he developed in…

Hiccups?
In the past couple of years or so I've had hiccups so often its crazy. I hold my breath and they stop pretty quickly but some days I've had them over and over. Today has been a good day, only 14 times so far, some days it's 5 or 6 times an hour. I have a bit of nausea pretty much all the time and when I get them I feel…

CT Scan Results
I got them today. Nothing exciting. My lung mets are a bit bigger since the last scan in October. My CEA came down a tiny bit, whatever. Unfortunately, the adhesions continue to be a problem and now both kidneys are being pinched off by adhesions that have encircled them. So I guess I'll have to have another stent put in.…

Removing my port
since they will be taking my port out tomorrow morning does that mean I’m being deported? :-) seriously, I was surprised they said I don’t need a driver. I am going to ask to be blindfolded. I don’t want to see them cutting.

Coffee and colon cancer?

CEA levels rapidly rising
Hello all! I'm new here as of today, and I'm very glad I found this forum! I have searched through the different topics and I have found a lot about CEA levels, although not yet any story that corresponds to my own. I was diagnosed with third stage colon cancer late 2016 and I had a colon resection in January of last year,…

And the news is in...
NED Partially blocked abdominal aorta. Fractured wrist. I'll take the NED and run with it . Will have to work on getting my cholesterol down with diet, as I am allergic to all Statins. And my wrist is braced and hopefully will heal soon. They think it was caused because the bones have been damaged by Chemo. Not surprised!…
