Possible Colorectal cancer
HI I am a 21 year old male and I am new here. I have no family history of colon cancer or colon problems but my grandfather had kidney cancer got his kidney removed and caught lymphoma and ended up dying from it at 61. About 2 weeks ago, I was on vacation and I noticed red streaks in my stool and I thought nothing of it…

And now Alan Rickman dead from Cancer
Same age as David Bowie, 69. One of my favourite actors. Two celebreties in one week. So very sad to see, but of course we know so many, many more every day are taken by this insidious disease. Sue - Trubrit

CEA and Oncology Appointment Update
Hi all, Yesterday I met with my Oncologist. She said my CEA test showed it is staying stable. My CEA has not gone below 3 since my last rounds of chemo and yet all the scans, including PET scans show nothing. My Dr says not everyone has the same normal and we work with what seems the baseline for me. I can do that. All my…

David Bowie
Good lord, David Bowie passed away from cancer. I am shocked and saddened. I wonder what type it was. Just shows that the so-called alternative therapies don't work. I'm sure with his money he could have tried all kinds of things. What a shame.

Having a Down Day
I've just been on Facebook for the last hour or so. And I find that I'm sad now. Two friends are away, one in Disneyland and the other in Vegas which is her fourth time away in the past year. I haven't been anywhere in four years. I'm happy for them but I'm sick of my only positive posts being about not dying. Something…

Hello all; Just got news from Stanford that my last CT scan was good - NED and the CEA is below 1. This is after a stage 4 dx nine years ago. I wish I had a magic receipe to share with all. Celebrated briefly.... took the dogs to the park... fixed dinner and now the wife and kids can breathe easier for the next year. I am…

Latest Update on Lung Spots
I went to see the doctor who deals with the radiation if the spots on my lungs are mets and not just scars. I met with a team of three doctors including the one I was booked to see. They figure there's about a 60 to 70 percent chance the spots are cancer. So the next step is a PET scan to see if anything lights up. If they…

Vectibix/Low ejection fraction rate
Is anyone on Vectibix? My brother has been on it for a few months and is having issues with a rash, which is much worse than the Erbitux rash he once had. He's on best friends terms with his dermatologist these days. But worse, his magnesium is very low. He's had to have several magnesium infusions over the last couple of…

Bet this has never happened to anyone on here....
My husband has chemo tomorrow and went to get his chemo pump to take with him in the morning. Looked everywhere for it. No where to be found. Then he remembered he must have thrown some trash on top of the pump that was in one of those big white bags. Well, the trash was picked up the day he got the pump off! Who throws…

Need some help
So last year my Mother was experiencing some symptoms of weight loss and a lump in her Lower abdomen, and always feeling tired. She went to the ER in May of 2015 and they discovered her blood levels were incredibly low, and this was due to internal bleeding by a tumor pushing down on her colon. They operated on her that…

A new year and reflecting on the past here
6 years ago today, I became a member of this board. I have been looking back at the old posts and remembering not only the caring and support I received, but also noticed that then we often put out posts which were just interesting (funny stories about our pets for one) or something which might be inspiring. Here is a post…

A Year Ago Today
A year ago today I had recently woken up from the coma but was still in ICU and unable to move. To cheer me up the staff and my family decided to let my horse visit me. This is the link. When it looks like he's got his face in my lap what he's doing is trying to pull the blanket off.…

A birthday, of sorts - musing -
I joined and posted on this forum three years ago today. Newly diagnosed and just a little scared, it was the best move I made as I set out on this journey. Thank you all so very much for the years of support. For being there for me, and allowing me to be there for you. I hope and pray that I can continue being here for…
