Question
I've been busy between dad and my brother. I haven't been on in a while. I brought my brother to a new cardiologist that is closer to home and one who I respect. He sent my brother for a MUGA scan on Friday. He had one back in early Jan/Feb when he was hopspitalized. He had an ejection fraction of 45% then. He has been on…

While lamenting this rather frustrating and unfortunately common occurrence in my life, a friend shared this article on the Spoon Theory: http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/articles/written-by-christine/the-spoon-theory/ This totally made me cry, and I absolutely wish I could make everyone who loves me or gets frustrated…

Made it through the first cycle. Tuesday through Thursday weren't bad, but Thursday afternoon through Saturday were miserable. Nausea, diarreaha, and feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. Just exhausted now...Surprisingly, I didn't have much of an issue with the cold with the oxi... I have a PET scan today because the…

Chemo in three days
I start my follow up chemo of Folfox5 on Monday so I have two days to go. I've been miserable and stressed all week. I can't sleep and I'm angry and cry a lot. I'm hoping it won't be too bad but I think it's naive to think it might not be. I've had a charlie horse in my calf for days that's so bad I can't sleep well and…

Taking care of your teeth during treatment
I went to the dentist today to have my teeth cleaned and found out I have nine fillings to do. Three are replacing old ones but still I was shocked. I've always had good teeth and take care of them. But, while I was in treatment I was too tired to care enough to brush them regularly and would go days without doing it. I…

Pain in the femur
I had colorectal cancer and went through all the normal protocol, chemo, radiation, and chemo again. I have been off chemo since last September (2013). Have had a sore rectum forever. Was on a drug called canasa for 42 days - inserted into the rectum at bedtime. It did help some. But as long as there is stool in the rectum…

How many lymph nodes do we have?
Maybe I'm just not good at searching things on line. I can't seem to find out how many lymph nodes we're supposed to have that can be affected by colorectal cancer. After surgery I was told that I'm stage III because three out of eleven lymph nodes were involved. I assumed this meant I had eleven lymph nodes and three…
