An Update - Yesterday's visit to the Doctor

But first let me tell you that we were waiting in the waiting room and there were a man and lady there before us, the man went in and i said to the lady is the doctor on time today? She said no, my appt…

Tomorrow is Round 4 Folfox
I report to the torture chamber (infusion lab) tomorrow at 9:00 AM. My white blood count was very low today so not certain what the plan is for tomorrow. I'm still not feeling the best but had a great weekend watching my grandchildren playing in the ocean. It's summertime so we normally have all the grandkids. They are…

Biopsy
Finally got the biopsy results back from the endoscopy and he only noted that there was some irritation to the stomach but there was no infections and no cancer of any kind. So I'm thrilled that everything is normal. Don't go back for a colonoscopy for 3 years. Thank you all for your prayers, good vibes and thoughts. It…

Advice Requested
I went in today for another CEA test. My onc. has been watching CEA very closely (monthly tests) as it has been highly correlated with cancer in my case. Unfortunately my CEA level has climbed from under 1.0 (5/8/14) to 2.0 (6/5/14) to 3.0 (today 7/7/14). My oncologist said this is likely a trend. However, he said that…

Moving from Folfox4 to Xelox
I've already done 6 doses of Folfox4 and had a Petscan which came out clean (was operated in Jan of this year). I've been hospitalized twice during this duration (diarrea/low platelet counts), and the regimen was delayed twice as well. My oncologist suggests I should move to 4 dosages of xelox to see if I would tolerate it…

Barbebarb has passed away.
I didn't want to overstep boundaries to let everyone know what was going on with Barb so I didn't post it, but a few months ago, she decided it was time to stop the chemo and let go. Barb and I emailed daily for a while, just sharing how scary things could be and how hard te concept of letting go so young is. She loved her…

Each day my husband is a little worse than the day before. He is now starting to tell me things like, what happend to that plate of food i had on my lap? when he hasn't been able to eat for weeks now, i mean a plate of food anyway. He is constantly waving his arms around when he is sleeping, his voice is slurred and i…

Of special interest for anyone who may have or know someone who has a colostomy
I found this remarkable article on Huffington Post about an aspiring, 23-year old model who has Crohn's disease and two colostomy bags: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/01/colostomy-bag-model-picture_n_5548863.html?&ncid=tweetlnkushpmg00000067 While this isn't a cancer patient, I know that several of you, like my mom,…

Not sure what's going on.
So, i'm not sure what is going on. as most of you know, my husband is at home and the oncologist has told him that he is dying - i have been taking care of him and working full time. Last night i was very angry, tired and frustrated. I was yelling at everyone including him and my dog. Both of them looked at me with such…

Update on me
I want to thank True Brit for her interest. I have kept up on everybody and I really feel as you are my family. This has been a really bumpy ride over the last 5 years. I have had five surgeries and a million "it feels like it" hospital stays. I also suffer from epilepsy as well as hypercoagulation problems. I actually saw…
