"Remission"
I take that word with a grain of salt. But, we are celebrating anyway and the first time in almost 3 years, I feel I can relax (somewhat). No new growths shown on CT, CEA is a 2. Chemo has been reduced from once a week to every other week. Onc agrees that stopping all treatment would not be wise, as the two breaks Robert…

Immunochemotherapies
My wife's CTs show stable or disappearing features, one lung nodule disappeared in April, a "liver cyst" disappeared in September. The 2nd surgeon removed the leftover conglomerated para-aortic nodes in May and said, "chemo forever". She's been adding immunotherapies since diagnosis over a year and a half ago, UFT (5FU)…

Brought hubby home from the hospital today. They put the port operation off, will go back in next week as outpatient to have that put back in. I am told to watch the fluid build up, in case it increases quickly and he has to be drained again. He is so week, I wish they could somehow keep him from losing so much strength…

My decision
No more chemo for me! I say that confidently, but I also feel a bit of fear in saying it out loud, too. But I've decided, when I'm fully recovered from this pneumonia and my oncologist says it's safe to start up chemo again, I'm not going to. I've already "used up"/shown disease progression al all the usual FDA approved…

Yesterday we were scheduled for the following appts: 11:30 MRI. 1:30. Surgical oncologist. 2:45 CT scan. Husband got into MRI on schedule. On House they take 15 min. so that was our best guess. He exited MRI at 2:15. He said they shoved a tube up his butt and shot liquid through it while taking pictures. We never saw that…
