What were you doing 10 years ago today?
I was in my office talking to a parent when the secretary came in and said someone called and said a plane flew into the Pentagon. I didn't realize the ramifications of that until we turned on the TV and saw the Twin Towers. I was a middle school principal in building shared with a high school. I went down to speak with…

Platelets too low...any idea how to get em higher?
I'm scheduled to get treatment every two weeks but over the past six months or so my platelet counts have been below 100,000 (the number the onc says they have to be above to get treatment). They tried giving nulasta shot or numega (get confused which is for platelets and which is for red white blood) but i had bad…

Anyone have pelvis fractures from radiation therapy?
Hi. In Sept. 2009 I had stage 3/4 rectal cancer treated with radiation therapy for 5 weeks before surgery along with Xeloda. I had surgery in Jan. 2010 with permanent colostomy which was uneventful & healed fast. No evidence of cancer in lymph nodes. This was followed by 3 doses of chemo (12 weeks) which really made me…

I'm questioning my good results.
When I had my onc appt last week for the first time since chemo ended in May, I was told everything was good. Well I did not look at the papers. Today I got copies of my CT and lab work and there was nothing like tumors but there were a few things that I don't understand. On the CT it said spleen mildly prominent and mild…

Walking
Monday my back turned into a knot and I missed my walking Mon, Tues, Wed. Work on my feet all day and the knotted up back is not fun. Of course the numb feet from the neurapathy doesn't help much either. Still knotted up but I did my 3.5 mile today. I just did it at a slower pace, 3.8 MPH vs 4.5 MPH and took twelve more…

Mucinous?
Hi, I'm new to this board, so bear with me if this a duplicate question.... When I was diagnosed in January of this year with Stage IV, my onc said that it was mucinous adeno carcinoma. So even though there’s no mets in my liver or other organs (but my colon was breached and present in lymph nodes), doc says the fact that…

LOL, a cortisone shot in each shoulder, and the pain has…
