Nasty Nausea!
Oy vey... what a nasty four days this has been. As you all know, I got the first treatment of Irinotecan on Monday. I did notice a queasy/stomach upset while being infused but couldn't really determine if it was nausea or intestinal upset/cramps. So the chemo nurse did give me a shot of Atropin, which sort of helped.... so…

hummm not a great PET
I had my PET scan on Monday and saw the Onc yesterday. Seems as though I have "tiny" nodular with SUV reaching 8.2 (what does this mean) along the back of the cecum close to the original surgery site, but no definable mass, a stable cyst in the liver (knew about this one - surgeon was not concerned at time of surgery in…

Daughter
Gosh, so sorry, I forgot to mention, my daughter's appointment to find out about bad pap smear was originally for January 31st, apparently, being my daughter her math exam was on that date and could not be made up, so she canceled the January Appointment much to my chagrin. Her next available appointment is February 14th,…

I am new here and scared to death
Hello My mom just turned 58 years old. She had a liver enzyme test done in Nov. 2010 and this showed elevated liver enzymes. She then had a CT scan which showed mets to liver (3 large tumours) and a colonoscopy. On Jan. 7 2011, she was diagnosed with colon cancer following the results of the colonoscopy. She had a colon…

Here's a funny email sent to me by a friend. For obvious reasons, I thought y'all might enjoy it! *hugs* Gail Best friends graduated from medical school at the same time and decided that, in spite of two different specialties, they would open a practice together to share office space and personnel. Dr. Smith was the…

CT scan today....
Most know I had Cyberknife back in August. Could not do a follow-up PET/CT til Jan 11th. They deemed the Cyberknife successful but noticed on scan that I had radiation pneumonia in my top Rt. lung from the Cyberknife. They also found 3 additional spots on Rt. lung and 1 on left lung. The University where I had the…

Some good news...
When I was in the hospital 2/9 for my liver resection I met a gentleman from out-of-state (from the midwest) that had come to MSK to have an HAI pump implanted. When he was originally diagnosed his liver was covered with mets and the doctors he met told him he would never be operable. So, he went to MSK for a second…

Cancer Free
Ok, the person who told me about this board is a chemo buddy of mine. He was recently kicked off for using the word God and prayer I guess to much. I too believe in God and prayer but at his advise I won't go there as this is not the place so I've been told. Bobby wanted me to let you all know that he really misses you all…

He loves drunks too...........Rated G for General Audience...Just for laughs
A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push. "Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed. "Who was that?" asked his wife.…

Genetic CRC and what testing?
A refresher- My Mom was dx with colon CA 2B 2 years ago. She had a resection and follow up chemo. All of her follow up CTs and CEAs are looking awesome. She still has a hard time with fatigue and general pain- chemo affects. She is pretty sure that her Mom, my grandma, had undiagnosed colon CA. She had many of the same…
