I'M GOING ON A TRIP
to Lake Tahoe, Reno and San Francisco the middle of January. If there's anyone out there that lives close by and would like to meet up with me, give a holler. Sometimes I think of driving cross country and meeting all my CSN family. Maybe one day I'll do just that!!!!! Laureen

Why do I scare myself? update!
So, I'm making myself nervous, most likely for no reason at all. As many of you know, I've had IBS for many years, and the symptoms (constipation, for the most part) have only gotten worse since my colon resection. In the last few days I've had even more difficulty with that, plus I'm wiping away a little blood sometimes.…

Paula G's husband:
It is with horrible sadness that I am posting that Paula G.'s husband John (JR) lost his battle with colorectal cancer on 12/31/10 at 9:30 p.m. John was diagnosed November, 2008, Stage IV. Paula notified me today. It has been pretty rough over at their home the last few weeks and Paula is one of the bravest, caring, loving…

Two Years Cancer Free!
Two years ago today I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. On Jan. 7th, 2011 I will have been cancer FREE (after surgery) for 2 years! (Stage III Colon) Psalm 16:8-11 I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will…

I am so done with recouperating! update 1/4/10
It has been 3 weeks and 3 days since the big hernia repair. I am done with this sitting around, I am losing my mind. I am feeling better every day. I got through the holidays, started driving and doing errands and managed to meet a few friends one night for a drink. Initially the doc told me recovery would be 4 to 6 weeks.…

We need to make a funny movie about colorectal cancer
This movie would focus on the dark humor side of it. It would cover the lives of a few of us with our journey from the very beginning of this crap. It would show the pure idiot doctors we have all encountered right along with the damn good ones like my super doc Todd Arends. The fun of finding out your insurance is…

MRI /Ct scan
I have been reading about the dangers of scans. I was dx in April 2009, and have had all the standard procedures related to CRC -- rectal tumor removed/j pouch etc. I was reconnected about 2 months ago. I was wondering what your opinions are regarding CT scans versus MRI. thanks

thank you
Thank you just doesn't do justice to the feelings I have for all all the people that make up this amazing club. I was diagnosed a year ago this month with stage 3 colon cancer. I completed 6 months of chemo in September and am now feeling great. I will be 44 this month and feel lucky for every day I am alive. I have 2…

Proctectomy (not colectomy)
Surgery is scheduled for the 15th. I did a pretty poor job of explaining in my prior posts, so here is a description of what I THINK is going to be done: Abdominoperineal resection (also called APR). APR used to be the standard surgery for tumors of the lower rectum. Now, it is usually limited to large tumors that lie very…

anyone else doing this alone
i think this is my biggest fear. i am alone in dealing with this. at the beginning i had my brother's support as long as i lived with them, but when i overstayed my welcome and moved home, i knew he would not be there for me. i have 7 sisters/brothers, many very bad things have happened to prove to me they are not…

Buzzard
Strategy 2 was done a long time ago. I am blunt. They do not take responsibility for their actions in our relationship. 1 and 3 I am working on as soon as I get some rest. I would have never opened the bank except for extreme mergency illnesses.
