Pam in hospital
Man this sux. She had her 3rd TACE treatment of the year in Oct, just trying to keep the liver mets from growing. In November, she had all the scans and the onc was pleased the growth had stopped (or at least really slowed). He was concerned about the bile ducts but wanted to give her a break for the holidays. She was so…

This is for the guys
I forgot to tell you men out there about my adventure with a punch drunk bladder. I have had this happen to me 2 times after surgeries. When I woke up they had a cath in me. The next day they took it out. No big deal. Then I could not pee. After almost a day I still could not pee. I sat up in bed and it hurt like hell. I…

Ascites Getting Me Down.......Need some encouragment
Hello Everyone, These ascites are not backing down. I will be going for my 6th or 7th (can't remember) drain tomorrow. I have only had one round of Xelox so far. It is my understanding that they think the tumor on my ovary is responsible. I'm just very tired of trekking to the hospital and seeing some of the nurses look at…

CEA NUMBERS
Just wondering for those of you in treatment how often does your Onc test your blood for CEA? Mine has not tested it since late September saying that he fully expects that the cancer is gone at this point. After removing the tumors from the colon in March and the liver in August along with the petscan back in April showing…

Yay they took off the pump today. #1 down and 11 to go.
I'm soo glad this is only a two day pump. That 5 week infusion really kicked dirt. I'm on my third day of #1. I was thinking my symptom's would be worse, but so far are tolerable. Some fatigue and nausea. The cold sensitivity is a little strange, but not nearly as bad as some of you get it. Some foods make my mouth and…

Guatemala and beyond
Well. Rapidarc in Guatemala was semi-successful. They treated the main tumor and found a new one in a real bad place and treated it as best they could. By all accounts so far, the treatment was successful. There is one tumor that I wanted treated that didn't get treated because of the urgency of the new one. I still have…

Liver Mets.
We received the scan results last week and it turns out there is actually 15-20 mets in the liver. According to Dr. Bartlett, they have shrunk very little but they know the chemo has had a marginal effect due to a slight decline in CEA. Anyway, the plan is to have the Isolated Hepatatic Perfusion (IHP) followed by…

Hi Everyone. My dad, Dave, just had his powerport installation a few hours ago. Unfortunately, his heart rate went up during the surgery. The doctor thought it was just anxiety at first, but his heartrate is not going down. They think he might have an allergy to Heparin, the anti-coagulant that they used (and will continue…

Low in Vitamin D
As you are aware I had some chest xrays and blood tests done a few weeks back due to the cough that I have had for about 5 months, and nothing bad was found. During these blood tests they did find that I was high on B-12, which the doctor said was fine. I recently went back and found out that my vitamin D was very low,…

I had chemo Dec 2, so should be scheduled for the 16th. The nurse checked with the doctor, who said she thought maybe I would like a break for Christmas. I am…
