Hi John I know that you have been getting good results with certain herbs you are using and under the care of a TCM doctor. I know you had previously listed all the things that you were taking but I cannot find back that post. I would like to get more information on the tcm doctor and the herbs that you used. I do not know…

One night in for tests
I haven't been feeling too good. Mostly dizzzy- thought, with good cause, that it was this new med I am on for depression. I had just started a new one, was only at the lowest dose. I also can't tolerate the heat like I used to- just going from the house to my car and I am whipped; dizzy and sweat running down my body. ICK…

groin pain
This might sound crazy, but my husband and I sat in the ER all afternoon today, because he has had a pain in his left leg that comes and goes and now he also has a pain in the left area of his groin. ER doc said blood work all came back good, no clots. Said she couldn't feel any swollen lymph nodes in the area, but also…

Colonoscopy today--good news this time!
Last August I had a routine colonoscopy and found out I had colon cancer. I had colon resection surgery, followed by chemotherapy (FOLFOX) that finally ended in April. Today I had another colonoscopy--same doctor, same location, same friend driving me. This time when the doctor came to talk to me after the procedure, he…

Old dog
As of july 8th, I am now technically Eric40. We are not celebrating until tonight though. I made it to 40. next goal - 41. Things kind of change in our situation. Aging actually becomes an accomplishment and at this point seems pretty appealing.

Your biggest misconception
I was wondering about something-what was everyone's biggest misconception about cancer at the time of diagnosis? Mine was that, because I was diagnosed at Stage 1, I thought I would have one "courtesy call" type of visit to the oncologist, and that would be that. He'd confirm that, no, I didn't need chemo, slap me on the…

Folfox + Avastin Side Effects?
Mom started chemo (Folfox plus Avastin) Wednesday. She just got unhooked from the 46 hour pump today at about 4. Her only real side effects so far have been that food doesnt taste good to her and she is really tired. I have read all the papers with all the possible side effects but prefer personal experience more. Do you…

Fix for chemo brain!
Guys, I think I found a fix for chemo brain. One of my neighbors put a fence up on my land. Now I know this system will not let me put certain words in post, so let’s just say his mother was not married at the time of his birth. It seems that the surveyors set the corner pins of my property correctly when I bought this…

Response DX tests in
My husband had his tumor tested for the ERCCI, TS, EFGR and BRAF gene to see if he had a low expression or a high expression and found out that Folfiri and Erbitux are best for him. Where as folfox would not be as effective because of his high expression of the TS. We just got our test results back so I'll spend some more…

Question about summer heat/humidity to fellow colostamates:
Greetings!!!This is my first summer (heat wave) living with a colostomy. I use a ConvaTec 2-piece. In the past week, on three occasions the wafer that sticks to my skin came loose and the whole appliance (including semi-full pouch) started coming off (it was not due to contents in bag). CEA rise then dip on CPT-11
I've had 2 rounds of Xeliri +Avastic. My CEA rose :( Only 2 cycles so far so we're gonna try another 2 before checking again. My onc said he's aware that, with Oxaliplatin, CEA can rise at first then fall dramatically -- due to cancer cell death (necro-something). I remember have heard that theory on the board before. But,…

Hello Hello, Just a little note to say all is going well with the chemotherapy. I have completed 4 rounds and I have 8 more to go. I am looking forward to November, when I will be able to drink something cold. It has been very hot outside, but I stay indoors. Although I am down to 159 pounds and back in size 10/12, that is…

Potty talk.....
I can't live another day without describing my toilet experiences with my special semi-colons.... tight muscles in chest, weird
Hi, Has anyone had a problem with muscle joint pain after chemo? I have after each time I've finished a regimen of chemo. But this time it's different. My chest is very tight as is the muscle in the stomach. I had a Ct last week and will get results today. I hope and pray it's not the cancer growing really fast! My chest…
