post op liver resection chronic pain
My husband had colon cancer stage 2, none in nodes, 1 1/2 years ago. Last July he had his first PET scan and he had one small tumor in the liver, section 7 or 8, supposedly via blood stream. He had a liver resection last Sept. then started chemo six wks. post op every other week, did 9 rounds in all. He has pain in his…

Question for RunnerZ
Need your insight or input please. I have always been active, running, biking, aerobics, etc., but jogging / running is what I really like, but was hoping you could help with a foot thing, I have been to the foot Doc and have a pair of orthodics (sp?), but they really don't help and have had x-rays of both feet and all…

Back to feeling great
The effects of the chemo have worn off over the last few days. I feel great. I've been out mowing grass and gardening. It's really hot but I've stayed well hydrated. I hate having to wear long sleeve shirts and big hats but other than that I feel great. This is truly baffling. To be as far along as I am and feel as good as…

Over the counter drugs
Help! Although I feel pretty good most of the time, by about 5-6 pm I get gas so bad that I am afraid to go out of the house. I eat carefully6 and not at lot, at that. I suspect I expected a bit too much from the surgery as I thought after taking out two tumors I wouldn't need immodium (spelling?) or Pepcid. Wrong, at…

Party in Progress
Well, I am amidst another chemo infusion party. The cocktail is mixed and I'm downing it as we speak. Lots of new stuff being added to prevent nausea. I also have a daily shot upcoming to keep my white blood cell count up. After this it is one more party then a scan. I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Mike

Fawcett's death spotlights a rare cancer
My husband told me last night that NO MEDIA OR PUBLIC were allowed at her funeral, so that could be a reason why we had no media coverage. NICE ARTICLE: http://my.earthlink.net/article/hea?guid=20090701/4a4aed50_3421_13345200907011965640670

A loaded question Julie44....Here Goes Nothing
1) PET/CT If you haven't noticed, cancer needs much higher levels of glucose than the average cell. Simply attaching a gold nanoparticle to a glucose binding agent would work. But there is a catch. You would have to monitor surrounding tissue for signs of damage. This could easily be done by inserting a small RTD into…

I'm Halfway There
I just got disconnected today from my 4th treatment and I'm halfway done. I can't believe that I posted just not too long ago about being scared, afraid of the unknown, and being the worst part of my treatment. I have been through the first treatment ok, second was very hard, then started taking vitamin b6 and it seemed…

Phil - The Farrah Fawcett Thing
Phil - I see how right you were about the farrah fawcett thing. Michael Jackson is posted all over the net and the media and I haven`t seen a darn thing about Farrah Fawcett. It`s a dadgum shame. They are more worried about a guy who at best was odd and had inappropriate boundries with children. Not to take away from his…

Request for good vibes...
Hello everyone, I'm having another set of scans done on July 6 and would immensely appreciate any well-wishes, thoughts, prayers you can spare. I'm really tense about these as they will dictate how my treatment progresses from here on out (surgery/no surgery/clinical trial). My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone here…

Prayers Requested
A little history: In October 2008 I lost my full-time job of 8 years and finally received a full-time contracted/temp position with NO benefits in March 09, making ALOT less than what I was before. In 2006 I applied and received an offer from Loudoun County Public Schools in their Constrution Dept, but turned them down due…

An interesting e-mail....on perception...we semi-colons would more than likely have stopped...
Washington DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a…

Computerless for awhile
Hey Semi-colons! I hope you're having a great summer (as best as can be expected wherever you are in your cancer journey). I will not have convenient access to a computer for quite some time so I won't be posting as much ( a relief to some perhaps. HA!) Just wanted to give the heads up in case anyone is wondering where I…
