I'm not sure exactly what you meant by saying, "I was told and did not listen;" however, there is NO reason that you should refrain from coming here or even posting. In fact, because of your husband's sad passing maybe you should come here more often and post as often as you need. I say this for multiple reasons. We are…

Thanks for PET info!
Thanks for all the PET info! I feel a lot less anxious about the procedure and maybe even a little less anxious about the results. I am glad I found this site. I get a good deal of support from friends and family, but no on can say to me "I know how you feel." And I don't expect them to. My scan is scheduled for Sat. 5/27.…

ER ROOM YESTERDAY!
Now that I got your attention....I was in the ER yesterday, with my 14 year old daughter (yes she is a runner too, like her mom and dad) who ran her leg of the 2 mile relay in a personal best, then stumbled while handing off the baton, fell hard to the ground and broke her collarbone. I had to get her to the hospital, 7…

PET scan?
I was diagnosed stage III June 13, 2003 at 37 yrs. After nearly 3 years with no major problems, my doctor has ordered a PET scan because something has changed on my latest CT scan. He seems to believe it is scar tissue as I had a colectomy because of FAP. I've never had a PET before and am a bit anxious. I've heard you…

Thank you!!
Thank you for all your support. I have been trying to improve my diet through reading, but these last results have finally spurred me to make an appt with a naturopath who deals with cancer patients. Anniversary (of sorts)
Hi all - One year ago I was diagnosed. Doesn't really seem something to celebrate, but a year ago I had no idea - after internet searches - if I would even be alive today, and today I am quite alive and much better informed. So, something to celebrate I think - sort of! Betsy

cat scan results ~ sigh ~
Cat scan results of yesterday show growth in all my tumors in the lungs. They are still considered small. Last scan was in Jan which had showed a decrease in size on oxali. But since Jan i've spent more time off of the oxali than on because of what it's done to my liver studies. I resumed half dose. Onc isn't happy with…

Completed #25 of radiation/chemo combination therapy to-day. Doc says next 3 radiation treatments will be stage II which concentrates on the site of the original tumour. When this is over I will be on a 1 month "treatment free vacation" and then back to Folfox for a couple of months. I'm beginning to see a light at the end…

running update
Thank you for all of your well wishes (especially for cool weather), tips, support, & words of encouragement. I ran the 5th leg of the 6 person relay race "Beach to Bay" in Corpus Christi, TX in 50 minutes. Not bad for someone who doesn't run-unless of course being chased by something or someone (although luckily that…

I was asked "What happens if it comes back?..."
After sharing my happy news with anyone who would listen (and even those who didn't want to...hehehe) I was asked one question that stopped me in my tracks.... "So what will you do if cancer comes back?" After thinking about it for a minute, I said....'I will fight it again! The toughest opponent is the one that has…

Please tell me about having an ostomy...
My surgery is scheduled for July 7th. My surgeon gave me three scenarios. 1) Least likely - he will go in and find the tumor shrunk enough to remove and re-connect. No problem. 2) remove tumor and put in a temporary bag or 3) remove tumor and have to put in a permanent bag... Now to the question I have no idea what to…
