So, today was scan/biopsy day....WHEW, to tell the truth, I was nervous!!!! The Ultrasound of my neck didn't show anything. YAY! Muscle Spasms
I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction and taking tamoxifen May 2014. I've been having massive muscle spasms in the both breast area for a year now. I have tried about 8 different muscle relaxer pills. I'm done with pills and refuse to take any more. I'm still wearing the tissue expanders because I can't get the…

Hi Ladies and Gents, Is there anyone who has decided against genetic testing? I know all the reasons why we should have it done, but I'm interested in anyone's advice/opinions who decided not to have it done. I was diagnosed with stage 1 bc 10 years ago and had another primary renal cancer, also stage 1 6 years ago. Thank…

Lynch Syndrome
Hi all, Has anyone here had genetic testing for Lynch Syndrome? Its basically a test for colon cancer, but it can predispose you to other cancers also, so sometimes the genetic counselors recommend it to other cancer dx as well. The genetic counselor recommended it when I went for the BRCA test and said that because Lynch…

wigs
Hey Ladies, Does anyone know about making wigs? I have a friend just diagnosed. The onc told her she will have chemo, she is only 36. She has beautiful, long hair and wants to know if it is possible to cut her own hair to have a wig made for when she looses hers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Cindy

What do you think ladies?
Routine oncologist appointment last week. My normal one has moved on so had a temporary stand- in. Who by-the-way actually read my file. My old oncol three times thought I had had a lumpectomy when I was bilateral!!!! (Don't ask). Anyway, it was a very pleasant Indian gentleman I saw. Before I left the room he said to me…

Ladies awaiting results
Noticed there are a few ladies awaiting results and some pondering their options. I just want to wish you all well and please don't be too afraid. All the surgeries are doable, chemo is also doable and not as frightening as you may think. I did not experience radiation. Go for the best options and ask your surgeons and…

radiation therapy surprises
I just finished 33 radiation therapy sessions directed at my left breast. I underwent a lumpectomy for a very small malignancy (DCIS) at the 8:30 location. I was given a 10 percent higher dosage of radiation than normal because the cancer was Grade 3. I experienced little fatigue during the course of my treatment, but…

What to do?
I recently posted that I had a breast ultrsound on Thurs. the 7th! The pain in my shoulders, chest, arm, breast, ect. is definitely worsening. The Vicodin was at least helping keep pain manageable before until a few wks. ago. I expect to hear something about the ultrasound tomorrow and further instructions. My question is,…

Scared, Mixed Emotions, Hopeful.....
I'm Female 53, I had a breast lumpectomy (stage 2_ductal cancer)and underarm lymph nodes removed also 4/16/15 (2 lymph nodes were affected.) I've postponed chemo. I'm not ready, I'm afraid, just want a month to not deal with this. Oncologist is doing an Oncotype test to see if I am low risk. Maybe no chemo at all. My…

HI NEWBIES, WANT TO KNOW WHAT A BREAST CANCER JOURNEY IS LIKE...?
Hello Everybody: (May interest you if you are new to breast cancer, May bore you if you've already survived your own unique journey...) I started this thread because I know the anxiety of waiting, of being very afraid of what to expect, of not knowing where to start, of not knowing what to do, and where to go etc etc etc.…

newbie w. Qs
Hello all. I am one of the newer members of the BC club-- found out 2.5 weeks ago. My first post here-- thank you for welcoming me! Found out I was BRCA-2 positive 3 months ago. MRI screening found cancer that recent mammography missed, a very small (low grade, hormone + HER2 neg) tumor so I have many reasons to be…

Ultrasound today~
I finally had my ultrasound today! Of course I don't know anything more than I did before! The tech said it could take up to 3 days for radiologist report. What I do know is everytime she stopped the transducer it was on the spots of pain and she would click away on her monitor. She also turned the monitor away from me…

Bilateral mastectomy with DIEP Flap ... aftercare ... anyone getting scanned?
I am 6 years out from stage IIb breast cancer diagnosis & treatment. When I was diagnosed, my path seemed clear. I was very lucky to have fallen in with a great team of doctors within my medical group, and I credit them with saving my life. They gave me the facts, straight from the hip, left decisions up to me yet clearly…

Pink Bus back in the garage....for the moment....
Thank you all for your warm thoughts and wishes....I felt you all there with me!!! This lymph node could be something major....or something minor. With my history of 2 primary cancers, it could be either one of those, or potentially a new (!!!!) site.....I'm suddenly finding myself chanting "3 is a crowd!". BIG kudos to my…

Metastisis to bones
Hello. I was wondering if any of you have had a metastisis to the bones, in particular, the spine, ribs, and/or pelvis? I had a very tiny invasive lobular cancer, .02 cent. but had one positive sentinel node measuring .9 cent. I was treated with a lumpectomy and 33 rounds of radiation to the breast and axillary nodes.…

Just curious...Anyone have different TYPES of cancer in each breast?
I finished treatment a little over 3 weeks ago, and I was curious. I had stage 3C Triple Negative Breast Cancer in my left breast, and ER+ widespread DCIS in the right breast. I was just curious whether anyone has had cancer in both breasts, but a DIFFERENT TYPE in each breast.
