Now I'm really going back to work
Almost a year ago I decided to take a leave of absence so I could focus on my family and fighting this battle. At the time, I didn't think I could be there 100% for my customers, my team, or my company. After a couple of months thinking I was going back to work anytime...it is really happening. Monday August 1st I will be…

Saw my Onc today. Still dancin'
All is well just my 6 month check up. I asked her what my percentage of reoccurance was. Something I had not asked for before but was curious and wanted to know now. 7% to 10%. I will take that. They use some kind of formula that takes in to consideration the stage, size and grade of the the tumor, if there was lymph node…

Fried Chicken Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken." She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else in the class laughed. My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what…

Remember the Butterfly and Be encouraged!
Last year when I was going thru a difficult time I felt so bad I was wondering how I would get thru it all. Then I ran across a card with a gorgeous butterfly on it. Inside it read, "Just when the caterpillar thought her world was over, She became a butterfly." It continued, "Don't give up five minutes before the miracle!"…

Put off nerve block for another day - Cinnamonsmile how are you?
Saw the internist yesterday. I asked for the last appointment of the day. He spent a good 45 minutes with me. Discussed nerve block for the chronic pain I am having from lymph node removal (May 2010). The pain guy wanted to do a nerve block, but I chickened out. Internist switched me from 1200 mg Gabapentin to Lyrica to…

Update on crabby nurse way out of line
Well, at my pain clinic appt this morning, I told the receptionist that I had a nurse give me grief over my restricted limb bands (that are provided by the clinic for ALL patients at risk of lymphedema). She called the clinic supervisor right away. She kept it short, I gave her the facts--nurse argued not once, but twice…

This is the link that will take you directly to the site where you can light a candle also for Meena and write a message. We did this before for some of our other pink sisters that are now angels. It is a pretty site and gives a moment of peace when you light your candle. It works! I hope you all will light a candle &…

If you need any $ help with meds
My cancer pharmacy has imparted some helpful info for those who may be struggling to pay for their prescriptions. Log on to www.rxoutreach.org. You must meet the financial criteria, and if you do, it has 90 and 180 day supplies of femara/lotrizole, blood pressure meds, and other meds for a fairly nominal price.

Depressed?
The other day my hubby asked me if I could possibly be depressed. At first I said NO. Now, I'm trying to take a good look at myself and he may be correct. I don't want to go out and do things. I rather sit in my room and watch tv. I can't get out of bed in the mornings and most don't until noon. I find myself snapping at…
