Just wondering??????
I'll be receiving my third round of A/C on Wed. All has been going great so far. My question is...I did loose most of my hair (kinda look like a chia pet)but now over the past week it seems like it's beginning to come back a little (I'm not going to get attached to the idea of it coming back because taxol is up next). I…

Boki Update:)
I have just seen the breast surgeon last Tuesday. She appeared to be pretty confident that everything is OK with my calcifications and the way they are spread, but to be sure, ordered MRI and stereotactic biopsy. In the mean time, I have found a lump on my left breast and DR told me it is just a fibrocystic tissue. Any…

What to say when someone says How are you?
So, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January - getting the final results after my lumpectomy. 3 weeks later, I have recovered from the surgery, but I'm still reeling from knowing or not knowing what comes next. I still have to have my lymph nodes tested, and don't know what treatment I will need other than radiation…

Thank You New Flower
A while ago I had posted on having trouble sleeping, New flower kindly answered me with some suggestions. I opened a box today and there was a gift of 2 different kinds of teas and some lovely lotion. My Husband was so impressed. I am too, but not suprised. The sister (and brothers) here are so thoughtful and kind. While…

Hot flashes have once again become unbearable!
I finished rads on Tuesday and have been on Arimidex since the first week in January. I and my gyn know the risk I took in taking hormone replacement therapy while having a family history of bc but here I am again with hot flashes that leave me soaking wet any time of the day. I still have very little hair so my head just…

"Junk Swap" - anyone want to sign up?
Several said they would like to do a "Junk Swap" and Greta hasn't said that we couldn't so lets do one. If someone else wants to organize let me know - otherwise I'll do it if no objections. "Junk" is not garbage - what should go in the trash - but 'stuff' you have that you no longer want or use - or want to just pass on.…

Cabin Fever
I've been edgy this week. Lurking here, not really able to contribute. We had about 48 hours of Spring-like weather Thursday & Friday. Went to the library, picked up a book that was on the reading post, also a fabulous cookie cookbook. I was on my lunch hour and hadn't eaten yet. If I make any of those recipes, I won't…

Hello all my wonderfully supportive friends. I am home sore but no worse for wear, Colin is taking extra good care of me making sure I have what I need and that I don't do anything I should not be doing. The surgery took about two hours and doc said it all went as planned. He does not use that lego type cover over the…

Anyone here do FEC/FAC chemo? How about Neulesta side effects? Feeling anxious - please share!
Hi all: I;m counting down to my last of 12 weeks of Taxol - 5 more to go, yeah!- and scheduled to start FEC for 4 treatments, 3 week cycles, on April 1. I may or may not get Neulesta shots with it, discussing with my oncologist this week. Any experiences with FEC/FAC? How are the side effects? It doesn;t seem too common;…

Why is good news scary?
Started chemo again Jan 12th and have had 4 treatments. I had an appt with onco on Wednesday. He said he thinks the chemo is slowing the progression of the cancer, but we wont know for sure until I finish 5 more treatments (3 months w/3 weeks on/1 off). I am hopeful as this is the only positive I have heard, but at the…

getting home from chemo
Now I have another question... what do you feel like right after an AC injection? I live an hour from the facility - without traffic. It will probably be a 90 min - 2 hr drive home next week. Did anyone transport yourself? Just curious, someone's taking me, but will I ever be able to drive home?

Update on "ornaments"
Hi, since a couple of people expressed interest in knowing the results of nipple surgery, I thought I would post a quick update. I had my nipple flap surgery last Friday. It was easy, took about an hour, only local anestetic, and I was in the hospital's operating room (not the doctor's office). After the surgery they taped…

Finally starting Rads...
...on Tues the 22nd. I get to go 2 times a day for 22 days, a total of 44 treatments. I'm not looking forward to the back and forth...about 25 miles one way. I have 6 hours between treatments, so 'hanging out' isn't a great option either. But I will figure it out, because I'm doing whatever it takes to win this. And thanks…

I don't understand my hair
Help me please if you can... August 25th 2010 was my last day for chemo, that was about 5 and 1/2 months ago. My hair is weird, in the back on the lower half it is at least 2 inches long and very thick, on the sides above my ears it is about 1 and 1/2 inches long and thick but on the top it is barely an inch long and very…
