Move over Bionic Woman!
Well, I mentioned earlier that I've been experiencing crazy palpatations. Is this the aftermath of Chemo? Radiation? Tamoxifen? I don't know what's causing it. It's a pattern though, I get about 2-3 weeks of crazy, severe palpatations ALL day, every day, then...nothing...zippo. It'll disappear for several weeks...then…

CA 27.29- What is considered clinically free of disease on this test?
I had this test done before surgery about two months ago ( result was 42.7 U/mL)and had it done yesterday, got my result this afternoon and the result is 16.3 U/mL. I know that anything below 38 is good, but I wanna know if I am considered clinically free of disease.

Holding my breath, waiting for my sister's news.
Due to my dx, a lump & a bump in one breast and a discharge in the other....She had a mammo and ultrasound. Because she is uninsured, it went through a local program. ACS contacted her - she needs an MRI. She has an appt with a social worker. I'm scared to death. Se has applied for Medicaid in the past, but makes something…

What Are You Doing For Thanksgiving & What Are You Cooking?
Just wondered what everyone was doing for Thanksgiving. Are you having a dinner at your home, and if you are, what you are cooking? We are having about 25 to 30 people for Thanksgiving dinner. I love cooking and think that this is the easiest meal to fix. Everyone is bringing something, so, I don't have to cook a lot. I've…

Emotional Rollercoaster
Just wondering...Yesteday was crying about just everything. #2 Chemo completed, slowly getting some energy back; more than halfway finished. Then 33 rads. Am happy about that. By afternoon felt better and started to do more things around the house. This emotional rollercoaster .... normal? Joining a local support group in…

Good News - Finished Radiation Treatments
Yesterday was my last of 33 treatments. I am so glad it is finally over. I have an appointment with my medical oncologist on…

MyTurnNow - UPDATE
Thanks kindred spirits for all your encouragement and support. My surgery went well and I am a little sore but anxiously awaiting going to my PS tomorrow to get this wrap off. Compared to the lumpectomy I had in 7/09 and the bilateral mastectomy in 8/10, this surgery fits right in between the two. It's been a long road but…

Comments made in the year 1955! That's only 55 years ago! =========================================== 'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $10.00. 'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $1, 000.00 will…

Ornament Exchange - let's keep this going throughout the year
Hi, I posted this onto another post and wanted to repost to get more opinions. What does every one think about keeping this as a year round event? For example, not to send a gift every time, however, send our CSN sister cards or little things throughout the year just to let them know we are thinking about them. Just an…

I volunteer in my field for my credit hours but I wanted to work too. Thanks Ya'll Chef Rox

My close friend was with me through my surgery etc...and knows I caught mine early-yet hasn't been to doctor in years. I have been bugging her endlessly and she made an appt. When I say if I waited it could have been so bad...so even if…

Had a good time.
My husband and I had a great 45th anniversary weekend. We walked a botanical garden, visited a ghost town and took in a hockey game. In between the activites we spent a lot of quiet, quality time together. We both needed this. Trying to get on with life. Hugs, Georgia

Nov. 17th--One Year Since Diagnosis!
Wow--what a year. So glad we don't know the future. I would have said, "no way, I can't do it, get me a gun, please!" But, after being diagnosed with Stage 3, grade 3 IDC with 10+ lymph nodes, 2 surgeries (lumpectomy, re-excision, axillary node dissection), 6 rounds of TAC, and 33 rads--I'm still standing tall. I feel…

Today's HAHA
I couldn't help sharing this. LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE A Congressman was seated next to a little girl on an airplane so he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total…

Chemo
How does the Onc. know how many chemo sessions are needed? Is there any type of test that indicates the secret number or is it an education estimate on his part? Has anyone ever had less Chemo than Onc. recommended?

Numbness and sensative finger tips
My last Chemo was Oct 1st and since then my finger tips are numb, tingling and very sensative. Moreso in one hand than the other. Just a little scratch and it really hurts. It seems to be worse then it was several weeks ago. Is this normal? and if it is how long will it last? Thank you :) Kelly

Been dealing with birth, death and illness this past week.
My granddaughter was born on Thursday, Nov 4 and my dad died Sunday, Nov 7 from a heart attack. He was 84 and lived a full life. However my father's wife was not going to do anything but have him cremated. My sisters and I wrote an obiturary and had a memorial service for him on Friday, Nov 12. The chaplain of the VFW did…
