Femara and Hair
This seems such a trivial question after I have read some of the posts here tonight. My hair grew back really well after baldness from chemo....I finished in January. Then about 4 weeks ago...overnight...the texture changed from curly and coarse to dead straight and limp. Then each day more hair came out. I'm not bald all…

So po'd at my sister!
I have been after her for the last year to have a mammo ( I was dx'd last Oct). She has lost her health ins, missed the free mammo's during Oct, and now finally, thinks it's time. Did I mention she has felt 'frozen pea' on the right and something like a swollen gland on the left? And, no, it's not a gland. She had cervical…

I had written about the horrendous headaches I started getting this past Friday. Dex was all that would knock it out and it would stay gone for approx. 36 hrs. My PA happened to be at the Retreat I went to this weekend so I was able to talk with her. Blood work was done Mon. morn and the only thing that showed negative was…

Neurosurgeon Visit Didn't Bring Good News
Well, for those of you who have been following my plight, I just got home from the neurosurgeon's office. In a few words, he looked at the MRI, read all of the reports, and says there is nothing that can be done for the pain in my jaw. He says that I have neuropathy in the nerves in the facial area where the pain is…

Question
Ladies, I have a question it isn't exactly BC related but I think you will like it. Why if you go to the ER do they gove you drugs that zonk you out, then start asking questions expecting a sane answer? I was in the ER this weekend for a bug and ended up staying because my oxygen levels were crazy. More interested in that…

Questions about Arimidex
Yesterday my onc mentioned that he would recommend I take Arimidex following chemo. One sister took Tamoxifen and had uterine polyp but she was 49. Other sister took Arimidex as she was 52. Neither one had any problems. I'm 61 and have had 12 surgeries in the past 4 years. I have degenerative disc disease, some neuropathy,…

Joke .. of the day ... kids, go figure!
Four high school boys afflicted with spring fever skipped morning classes. After lunch they reported to the teacher that they had a flat tire. Much to their relief she smiled and said: "Well, you missed a test today so take seats apart from one another and take out a piece of paper." Still smiling, she waited for them to…

Zoladex
has anyone heard about this drug? It's supposed to be given once a month as an implant under the skin of the stomach for younger women who developed breast cancer (hormone sensitive) before menopause. A study shows that it's as effective as chemotherapy but with fewer side effects.

Hi all I am Melissa, but everyone calls me Mel. I am new here and I guess I just needed to vent to anyone who 'gets it". I am 35, I have been married for 15 years, no children. It has been 9 months now since I first found the lump in my breast, 6 months of that fighting just to get someone to look at it and not tell me I…

Blankets for patients--I need your bright ideas!
My goal is to provide the local hospital's infusion center with 50 no-sew fleece blankets for chemo patients by the end of November. I have made 4, but my co-workers are going to help me,so my goal is really doable. I would like to make a label with a catchy phrase (like "layers of love" but that's taken) and also include…
