Should a PET be done after chemo?
My sister had cancer in both breasts, and had a double mastectomy with chemo afterwards. She has never had a PET scan, even though her tumors had two different types of cancer cells, one type of cancer in each breast. After she completed chemo her oncologist said that a PET scan wasn't necessary, because he knew how to…

When I feel lost

I thought I share. what do i do when i am lost in the forest? stand still, the trees ahead and the bushes behind you are not lost. wherever you are is called Here and you must treat it as a powerful stranger, to know it, and to be known. stand still,…

May I ask you, how many chemo treatments did you have altogether?
I was told I am getting 12 and this is before surgery, but yesterday much to my surprise I learned he meant 12 weeks of chemo, so I am actually only getting 4 now. 1 every three weeks, I get Cytoxan and Taxotere. Will the 4 be enough to totally kill all this cancer in me? Love Ronda

MOM'S BIRTHDAY / SIGNS SHE IS WITH ME IN SPIRIT
Well today is my mom's birthday. It is a sad day because I miss her so much. I know she is in a better place due to her breathing problems. I know that if she was here she would not be able to handle me having breast cancer. Every time she got a new ailment she would always say it was cancer but it never was. We were BINGO…

In July, 2009 a tumor on the left breast was discovered by me to be cancer Stage IIb, HER-2, 2/7 lymph nodes positive. Previous on time mammograms showed nothing. After removing by lumpectomy, I got an infection which required home health care everyday for 5 months. By fall, Herceptin was started and in the winter two…

OMG!!!!!!!!! I Love Lightning Bugs!!!!!!!!!!! :)))))))
Tonight when my hubby and I were sitting outside enjoying this beautiful cool summer evening, there were lightning bugs everywhere just lighting up the sky. I have always loved them, and, especially as a child, my sister and I would catch them in jars and watch them all lit up until we would fall asleep at night. Well,…

It has been a very sad day for me. Late last night I lost a niece to the monster that is cancer. I am fighting the battle and surviving but at her young (36) age she could not. I love my friends!
Today I had my first chemo. Three of my girlfriends gave me a ring this morning engraved with the most beautiful passage. Results from 2nd opinion today
This 2nd onc I met with today agreed with me that tamoxifen should not be the warrior to fight the beast for me since I am poor metabolizer.....he instead advises that I have my ovaries taken out and then start taking arimidex or femara which he said can cause osteoporosis and leg cramps. He did not say what other side…
