Breastfeeding and breastcancer
I'm 36 years old and was diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. After my biopsy, no one from the cancer support staff where I had it done called me or anyone from my OBGYN doctors office. I had to place 2 calls to my doctor and she finally called me on Monday at 5PM and told me I had cancer but that she didn't know…

Back from first mammo post DX and..........
Clear!!!! I'm not sure if this means I'm dancing with Ned but I'm so relieved that it's over. I felt so sorry for the tech, though. I walked in the room and just started crying and saying how scared and nervous I was. She was so awesome to me. I kept apologizing over and over for crying. I also ran into the tech who did my…

One more question about what to eat before chemo
I'm getting really annoying but i really want to know what most of you eat before chemo. Since this is my last treatment i want to try to make my side effects as limited as i can. My first treatment of a/c chemo ended with 9 hours of praying to the porcelain goddess because i felt so darn good and "I'm going to eat this…

Postponed Chemo?
When I arrived for my second round of chemo yesterday the doc told me that my blood work, particularly the liver levels, were elevated to 3x's the normal level and she wanted me to postpone chemo for a week. She said she felt confident that the levels would come down by then. Has anyone had this occur? Do the levels…

Stage IIIb and Triple Negative!
Yesterday afternoon, I met with my new oncologist (opted for a second opinion after finishing first course of chemo and being unhappy with surgeon). Thanks to the lovely women on this board, I was much more informed and truly understood when this dr. talked to me. I knew nothing when I was dx in December with IBC - and had…

Expander question
I am having expanders put in in July. I had a double mastectomy in December, but (obviously) no reconstruction. I'm wondering what does it feel like to have expanders in your chest. Are they soft, hard? Can you sleep on your stomach? My husband says my prosthetic breast forms feel like "memory foam pillows"...I'm thinking…

The explanation of NED
So many don't know what NED means. NED means no evidence of disease. It is what we say after a check up when our doctor says everything is fine, or, we have our first mammo or ultrasound and they are clear. It means you are free of cancer! So, NED is a very good thing! Just wanted to explain it to those of you that don't…

BRCA2 -
Has anyone had double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery because of testing positive for BRCA 2? I am asking because I have surgeries on 6/17/2010. I originally had a lumpectomy back in August of 2004 - I am in remission as of 5/16/2010 - now I have to deal with this. God is good and has been good - just another path I…

Peach Fuzz...Seriously? Have I Not Suffered Enough?!
So, my hair is coming back. All the hair in all the usual places...formerly straight dirty blonde is now steel wool colored, but I'll take it, whatever the color. However... I was told I need to get my 16 visable eyebrows plucked...some of them are too long and in the wrong place. Most of them are blonde, so they don't…

Has your team of doctors been good or bad since your bc diagnosis?
I have read posts on here where a survivor's team has been the best, like mine. And, I have read others, where I can't believe they even had a license to practice medicine. Would you want to share whether your team is/was good or bad and why? Thanks! ♠♣ Susie ♠♣

Do you ABSOLUTELY have to get the radiation and or chemo?
Why can't they remove what they think is the crud, then sew us back up, why do we have to go through torture, can't they just give us the Tamoxifen (sp) pill and say come back next year for a mamogram? See I told ya I don't know anything about this...... again I thank you for all the explanations. Ronda

3 weeks after using Rapid Lash
OK, I'm on my third week of using Rapid Lash to help my sparse and falling out lashes. I don't see a major difference but they do look a little better. Rather than putting on multiple coats of mascara I only need one! I'll keep using it to see if they get better. I do not have any itching with it or burning which some…
