If the shoe fits
I wanted to share that I received in the mail today a beautiful ornament. It is a minature shoe, all glitz and glamour, and a note that read, As we walk the path together, we deserve beautiful shoes. The ornament truly touched my soul (no pun intended) and lifted my heart. It is so much more than an ornament, it a tangible…

I started Rads today
Today was my first radiation treatment. I have 30 regular treatments with 3 accelerated treatments to follow. I'm nervous and somewhat apprehensive about it, but I realize its necessary. I am worried about the possibility of burning and also the fatigue. Normally, I sunburn VERY easily. Will that have an effect on burning…

Long ago I read…

Groan... LOL
A man was walking through the cities antiques quarter when a mangy cat runs across the road and nearly trips him over. He walks past the doorway the cat was headed for and notices there is a bowl of milk there that the cat is enjoying immensely...he also recognises the bowl as a highly valuable antique. He enters the store…

Waiting for call back from Surgeon's office
Short history - Sat. morn I woke up with swelling along the incision line (5+ weeks post - (last drain out 9 days prior) under arm (not in arm but along body). No heat, no fever, no pain (but then there's not a lot of 'feeling' in the area anymore), 2 different 'feeling' to the area - some felt like a pocket of fluid and…

Scared to start Tamoxifin
I am supposed to start tody and after reading all the side effects, I'm scared! The bottle says take 2 a day. The pharmacist said take it twice a day. Is it better to take both once a day or one twice a day? I am afraid of the mood swings and the depression and I am afraid to have to take an anti depressant. Do the side…

Chemo Chicks: What did you do during your chemo treatments?
A sister survivor told me she had a "Chemo Care Bag" she took to every treatment--she took her computer and a movie to watch, a book to read . . . My laptop is pretty heavy, so I'm wondering what else I might take. My son is going to load an iPod with music for me, but I'm not very good at just sitting around twiddling my…

Last Chemo
Wednesday will be my last chemo treatment. Was gearing up for my 6 weeks of radiation, everyday for the next 6 weeks. Wasn't expecting the news from my radiation oncologist on our first visit.
