Fatigue & Chemo Brain
Hi, I finished 5 rounds of chemo (Taxol + Carboplatin) 5 weeks ago. My oncologist is concerned I still feel lousy. My complaints are fatigue, depression/anxiety, constant burning in my stomach, loss of appetite, and cognitive difficulties. He is running a test on my thyroid. Did chemo effect anyone else's thyroid? How long…

She had an emergency hysterectomy due to complications from the cancer. That is when we discovered the cancer. We went to two clinical hospitals for treatment opinions and both came up…

Good news
I just got the results from the first Pap smear after my hysterectomy - nothing malignant or abnormal was found. Yippee! My surgery was August 19, and radiation treatments ended December 16. When I went in 3 weeks ago for the Pap, my doc asked me if I was wearing my good-luck T-shirt. Darn, I forgot it! But I guess I…

So Scared
Hi all--got a pap back a few weeks ago showing severe dyspalsia with some cells suspicious for carcinoma in situ--I go for the biopsy on March 25th. My question is is the Pap a good indicator for what you actually have--or is there a good chance it could be worse when I get the biopsy results back? Thanks so much!

All at once.....
Hi. I'm 18 years old and a college freshman. I just found out that I have cervical cancer. I'm really scared. I try to stay healthy and all, I eat right and exercise, I figured I'd be the last person on Earth to get cancer. The worst part of this, though, is that I don't have anyone to talk to. My parents are going through…

Hysterectomy Post Treatment
Hi, I was diagnosed with uterine cancer after it metastasized. The gynecological oncologist did a biopsy of the tumor, but decided against a hysterectomy. He wanted me to start chemotherapy immediately. The chemo put the cancer in remission. Now I am watching and waiting. Doctors seem split on whether to do a hysterectomy.…

never ending fear
vix My fear is so deep I can hardly breathe. It doesn't even register as the emotion of fear it is so deep. Will it stop? I feel as if I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop. I did my surgery and have gone on with my life; I work and I play but I always feel as if something is "not quite right." I got tremendous…

Hormone therapy
I just finished chemotherapy for advanced uterine cancer. The oncologist wants to put me on progesterone hormone therapy to keep it in remission. Does anyone know anything about this treatment option? Thank you for your input.

Just need to talk
I've been a registered user since October 2003 when I was first diagnosed, but I always just visit the site, look around for a few minutes, and then I leave because I feel out of place. I don't really think of myself as a "survivor". I don't feel like I've survived anything. I feel like I'm living outside of my old self.…
