derMaus Update from the Stage IV Club
I got my PET scan results today and, while not catastrophic, they certainly weren't what I was hoping for. Last year I developed mets to the retroperitoneal lymph nodes which were diminished, but not eliminated, by external radiation. In January I had had 5 rounds CyberKnife stereotactic radiation which seemed to have…

Cheese Update
Hi Ladies: Got some good news today. Apparently the Megace is continuing to hold my metastatic tumors at bay according to my CT scan today. And the incredibly painful renal stent has solved my kidney problem. My surgeon really thinks the kidney problem is a result of the radiation so I’m going to expedite my appointment…

Received message from It Happened To Me (Jeanette)
I had messaged It Happened to Me (Jeanette) and she said she's really doing good. She's four years NED and is patiently waiting for that five-year mark. I was looking at an old thread and she, along with a lot of ladies who are no longer with us, had responded. It always makes me wonder, especially when the woman was very…

Hello all - My Mom was very recently diagnosed with MMMT - malignant mixed Müllerian tumor. Foundation One-Innsurance Denial
So I just found out that Aetna denied the cost ($5,000) of my Foundation One testing. I intend to appeal just to jerk them around and actually may take it to the state department of insurance. Has anyone filed an appeal and can share any documentation you have found to substantiate that this has pretty much become standard…

Post Menopausal Bleeding, 2 month wait for GYN referral
Hi all, I have been >10 years without a period due to Mirena IUD. After it was removed more than a year ago, she ran hormone levels that showed I was firmly post menopausal. Do you believe in signs?
Back on March 7th, Lou Ann posted a picture of a little sock monkey on my Facebook page - no message; just this picture. I messaged her and asked her what it meant, but she never answered me. As a matter-of-fact, I never heard directly from her again, just her son. Well, yesterday, on my Facebook feed a thing came up…

CT scan versus PET scan-which is best?
My insurance company just refused my medical oncologist's request for my PET scan but approved a contrasting CT. I was diag w/ MMMT as well as colon cancer Oct 2017. Had my biopsy
I had my biopsy on Tuesday, it was not a pleasant experience, but it is done. The anesthesiologist would not do a conscious sedation, he said it was too risky for me so I had to choose either general anesthesia or spinal block. I chose general, mostly to get over my fear of it. Turns out I would have had to have it in the…
