Since lab was not billing me, I just noticed as I started to gather year end receipts, etc. My old insurer only paid thenm $11 of…

Smoking and Chermotherapy
I start chemo treatments on Tue. 11/29 and heard smoking during treatments is bad. I usually smoke about a pack a day but have cut way back to 2-3 cigarettes a day. Did anyone smoke during their treatments? From what I read, smoking interferes with the effectivenss of chemo. Hope that 2 or 3 cigarettes a day won't do too…

Surgery is over - what now?
Hi All I had my laproscopic total hysterectomy on 11/21. I stood at the hospital overnight and am home recuperating. The doctor said the cancer was contained and it was very early stages of uterine cancer. I won't know if I need any treatment until the pathologist report comes back but the doctor said all looked as good as…

I am freaking out
Okay, I am totally freaking out because I just found out I have a one inch "blastoma" lining my uterine wall. Geez, no one in the ER used the word "cancer" and after the finding (from vaginal and pelvic unltrasound), everyone's behavior changed from professional to plain "odd". Hmmmm....I am going to see whether my OBGyn…

Neuropathy
I am about to start chemo on 11/29 and worry about getting neuropathy. Does anyone know anything to take to prevent or alleviate the effects? I've heard about Vitamin B6, B12, and a supplement called Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Bleeding for no reason?
I had uterine cancer in October 2010. Full hysterectomy and no followup treatments as the cancer had not spread. Wasn't really given a "stage" but after looking on the internet I would say it was 1B and Grade 2. In May of this year I wiped and found blood. It stopped and I dug my head in the sand and decided to tell no…

Mammogram - I've got dense breasts~
Completed my yearly mammogram a week ago and today spoke with RN at docs office. She informed me of my results --- have dense breasts and need diagnostic testing to look at the left side image closer. Didn't mention anything about mass or lumps, but after reading about dense breasts this opens up more reading on my part.…

a week of great sadness and great relief........
This week has been so mixed for me. Firstly, the sad news of Linda's passing, which hit so many of us so badly. But, today, the news that my latest PET/CT scan is clear - no uptake anywhere. We had ordered it to try and determine whether the "mass" on the left side of my pelvis was recurrence or fibrosis - it turns out to…

Speaking of Tamoxifen, what about Pelvic Radiation?
Have been following the posts about that double-edged sword, Tamoxifen. Sure, it may delay recurrence of certain breast cancers, perhaps even prevent recurrences, but it's also associated with higher than usual risk not merely of uterine cancer, but of the most aggressive of them, including carcinosarcoma (MMMT) and…

RF Uterine Ablation can cause uterine cancer
I just joined this board today, and I was moved by the tamoxifen stories. I don't think the medical community to this day takes women's health as seriously as men's health. I never took tamoxifen, but have recently been diagnosed with uterine cancer, stage 3C already. It has spread around to the lymphs in the torso, but…

Dangers of Tamoxifen: Tell your story with the drug
Hi everyone, This year my mom developed breast cancer and the doctor prescribed Tamoxifen. Thankfully her network of friends warned her away from this drug. And as I learned more about it, it made me wonder how many women were taking the drug without fully understanding the extreme risks involved? My mother's doctor…

Tamoxifen
I know Linda P has posted several articles about tamoxifen being used to hold back growth for uterine papillary serous even if it is PR negative since recent clinical trials had shown some promise. I just had third reccurrence since diagnosis 12/08 and my onc has put me on tamoxifen. The tumors that remained in my lungs…

anyone have Ca 125 stop being reliable indicator?
At original diagnosis and 2 subsequent recurrences, my CA 125 seemed to be reliable indicator and early warning system - doubled or tripled before anything even showed up on scans. For last three tests had hovered around 30-34 after grueling six months of Cisplatin and Adriamycin had shrunk exisiting tumors 30% .So when I…
