medullary carcinoma of the thyroid
My sister was just diagnosed with early stage medullary thyroid carcinoma. We would like to know if it is sporadic or familial. Do we have to submit this request to her physician?

Thyroglobulin at 2....do RAI again?

I had my 6 month post treatment ultrasound and there was a small lymph node ~5mm there. Doc said 'not to worry' so of course, I worried. newly diagnosed stage 4 m thyroid cancer
I went to the ER for a UTI and they found spots on my lungs,thyroid,and in my bones. All of the tests and biopsies were done in 2 days. Now I await the final diagnosis and recommended treatment plan. Pets during RAI treatment
I am having RAI on feb 20 2012 and I have four cats. I've heard both ways as far as isolating them just like people. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do and how I can take of them while on isolation. Removing them from the house temporarily is not an option. Thank you.
