Hello everyone... I like everyone here was diagonsed with Kidney cancer on Nov 29th 2017. On Dec 5th I had a radical nephrectomy to remove a 13cm tumor. Pathology returned as a T2bNXM0 grade 3 clear cell carcinoma. Although my doctor is convinced he removed everything and I am cancer free my anxiety unfortunately is…

Packing wound that won’t heal
3 weeks out from partial nephrectomy. Incisions 4 healing on right side, 1 healing right side middle. The one on left side is a hole shy of inch long and 3/4 inch spread apart. Was infected so just finished Keflex. Now they have me packing it and covering with bandaid. Adhesive allergy is causing a bit of a challenge.…

Keloid Scars
all my surgical scars have turned into keloids. I was concerned that 1 would but I don’t anticipate all 5 would go that route. I’m 3 months post op so they may grow a little more based on passed experience with a couple of scars from a bicycle mishap many years ago. Has anyone else developed these type of scars? Ive never…

Today's Urologist Visit
First Urologist visit went fine - I did find out he will remove it laproscopically (YAY!). It is a litte bit of hurry up and wait (and worry) before surgery, though. Going in next Tuesday for chest x-rays, lung CT Scan and bone scan. Follow up visit with the doctor again a week after that to set the surgery date (probably…

Surgical Biopsy tomorrow
I've been a little lax here lately. Work has been extra stressful, and by the end of the day, I just haven't had the energy to read and respond. And now I'm back in the thick of "adventures in diagnostics." After three inconclusive, minimally invasive attempts to identify my lung nodules, tomorrow I go in to have a couple…

Rookie Question
A quick question about one (of many) things I don't understand: According to the CT scan, my mass is <7cm. The CT scan showed my other organs in the abdomen were "unremarkable" and to the best of my understanding the stuff around the kidney was all good and nothing showed up. I'm assuming (hoping) that means nothing has…

Future Follow Ups
Hi all, A while ago I was comparing the follow up scans you North Americans get to mine here in south east Queensland, Australia. I thought they were going to say good bye and leave any follow up scans to my GP (PCP). But, I was wrong. The urology dept. of my closest hospital (where my nephrectomy was done) will monitor me…

Just Being Honest
Hi all. I joined the group no one wants to be a part of last fall lol. I have appreciated every comment, positive thought and conversation. A lot of the surgery and recovery info proved to be helpful and true! For all of that, I am thankful. I have to say something I have noticed though. Nobody really talks about mental…

CT Scan Results and Questions
I received my CT scan results today - and I'm in an odd situation where I got them before I spoke with my doctor, so it's me and Dr. Google figuring things out right now. Overall, I don't THINK it looks that bad. The tumor is a little bigger than the ultrasound showed (4.8 cm vs 3.3 cm), but all of the internal organ stuff…

Checking In
Wishing everyone a Happy New Years. Just wanted to say hello. I haven't been visiting often these days. I got very bogged down with family issues. Some good. Some not so good. My dad passed in September. My mom was in and out of the hospital for a few weeks and I ended up having to spend several weeks in Tulsa, Oklahoma to…
