Exhaustion, still tired.
Tomorrow will mark 16 weeks post op for my wife's partial on her left kidney stage 1 3.5 cm RCC. For the most part, she's doing well. Been back to work since about the 4 week mark but.......on most days, by mid to late afternoon she is exhausted. She's getting pretty frustrated with it all. In general, what was most…

New here and wanted to say hello.
Hi, I'm Forger. (Think hot steel, not hot checks..) I have RCC on my right adrenal gland and some of the surrounding lymph nodes. DX'd last December. (Thanks Santa... I asked for a Tacoma, not a carcinoma.) It is a recurrance from 2010 when I had a tumor removed from my right kidney. They found a mass while doing a CT to…

Cholesterol
Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I am 56 and I had my right kidney removed in Sept 2015 due to RCC. There were no other concerns, cancer had not spread. Didn't need radiation or chemo. This was my first ever surgery! I had never even been in the hospital except to have my children. So it came as quite a shock. Cancer was…

Adjusting to the new reality
Hello How are you all? I joined our illustrious group last week and I wanted to pick your brains again if you'll allow me. You were all a great help to me last week and I am looking for some more illumination and I refuse to go on the internet again and search Google haphazardly (been there, done that). I am formulating a…

Waiting for diagnose and panicking
Hi all, I am new to (probable) kidney cancer, but have had Thyroid, Breast and Endometrium primary cancers previously, all successfully treated. For that reason, I keep a close watch on what's going on with my voluble body. My control abdomen CT scan last week showed: "A low-density lesion in the left interpolar region…

low back pain post nephrectomy, not before
Hello everyone, I'm new to this board. Have been reading for awhile , but this is my 1st post. I'm a stage 2 grade 3 chromophobe with 10% necrotic and sarcomatoid features. Margins and lymph nodes were clear. Mass discovered 2/10/17 after hematuria led to a pelvic scan. The same scan revealed multilevel degenerative disc…

Follow Up Scans Revisited
I had a ct scan on Thursday and Today I got my first NED... But, it might be my last because apparently no further scans are required (except an ultrasound in six months to 'monitor renal bed'). Now isn't that strange? I assumed I'd get a similar follow up protocol to you North Americans. Are there any other Australians…

One of those days!
For the most part, I do my follow-ups and take care of myself physically, but I don't think of my kidney cancer every minute like I used to. However, today has been one of those days I can't get it out of my head. I know I'm extremely lucky that I found this cancer on myself, but it feels so strange to think lucky and…

Waiting to find out, 4.9cm complex mass

This has a lobulated contour and internal septations, it does appear to have a cystic component." I have seen a urology…

Thank you to this group for the support. I had an OPN (abour 23 incision) June 8 around 12:30. Dr was worried about prior cryoablation, but ended up saying my surgery was textbook with NO issues. The recovery has been long (minutes actually seem like minutes turned to hours), but am doing much better. Up walking a lot, and…

Update on my treatment
Hi there - long time, no post. Wanted to give an update since it's been a while. I'm the 29 year old (now 30) with papillary RCC from HLRCC. I started on the PAPMET trial in September taking Cabo after the cancer metastasized to my liver, lungs and lymph nodes despite the nephrectomy and adrenalectomy. I did have to reduce…

Recurrence Rates
Does anyone know the chances of recurrence of tumors less than 2cm? I was told they are super low. Does anyone have any information that could be helpful? My follow up plan is CT, chest X-ray, and blood work at 6 months for a year, then yearly for 5 years.

Surgery Issue
i had surgery back on May to remove a small grade 1 stage pt1a tumor from my right kidney. The pathology report stated "the disruption of the tumor may be caused by tearing during surgery". CT scan
Hi All, A few days ago I was sent to the ER due to my Ulceriative Colitis. During this time, they took a CT scan of my abdomen, which not only confirmed my UC flare-up but also a 1.6cm lesion on my kidney as well as an ovarian cyst. The ER doctor did not even bother to tell me about the lesion or cyst, just that I was…

Renal Cell or Transitional Cell is the Question
My husband had the additional CT scan and Cystoscopy that his Urologic Oncologist requested. His bladder is good...everything is normal. Even though they don't usually do biopsies on kidney tumors, he wants my husband to have one because he said it's very important that we know the cell type before we do surgery. He needs…
