Cedar Point vs Kalahari
A short while back, Iceman proposed a trip to Cedar Point in August 2014, for all interested members of this elite group of survivors. Several of you had positive responses, indicating interest in going. When Iceman made that post, I was already planning on going to Cedar Point with my family, which I did this past…

So I've been MIA since I've gone back to work, it's hell since my partial open nephrectomy July 11. Most of my pain comes after work... Please give some pointers to focus my research directions. I have a pretty good idea of what particulars I'm seeking out but you can speed it all up with a bit more…

Additional treatment options
Good morning folks! As many of you know, Votrient is most likely not working for me. I had 1mm of general shrinkage at my 3 month CT scan, but then a 1mm growth at the 5 month CT scan. My local oncologist suggests switching to another drug. We meet with the oncology team at UW-Madison on Monday morning for their take on…

Paranoia has set in: help
I was diagnosed last week with Stage 1 RCC. a biopsy of my kidney is what led to the diagnosis. Assuming that the surgery goes well, how will I know if i am…

ALL CLEAR...
I saw my Onc Dr today. All clear on the scans, xray, and bloodwork from last week. Although, there was no CT with & w/o contrast of the Pelvis, and the CT of the abdoment was only with contrast, not w/o, which WAS ordered by the Dr but Cigna- the "back-end excriment-assholes" wouldn't approve for another few hundred…

pre testing done today..I am getting more nervous!
I went for my pre testing today. I know it's not a big deal, but time is closing in on me. I have open surgery on October 3 (partial). I plan to keep busy over the next 9 days, but boy, it's just not fun having to go through this.... I know mine was caught early, and I am so truly blessed. I don't seem to be worrying about…

Had a CT scan with contrast today
Had my first CT scan in July at 3 months and shrinkage was shown. Had a CT scan today at 5 months but won't know the results until tomorrow at 2pm (CST). You would think that in this day and age that they would be able to make the contrast somewhat tolerable to drink. Man I hate that stuff. It tastes like a pool cover or…

I just had my scans today....
I had my 4 month routine scan today, but it was about 1.5 months late due to some insurance issues. I'm very nervous. It started with having to change insurance companies, I was with United Healthcare, and now am with Cigna. United never questioned any test the Dr has ordered from Day 1, but Cigna has played hardball with…
