How long till my hubby gets feeling better
My husband just finished treatment for SCC BOT with 2 nodes on each side of neck. He had 7 weeks of cisplatin and 35 radiation treatments. He has lost 40# and will only use Ensure in his peg tube. He thinks adding anything else will either make him throw up or plug up his tube. I have read on here that some of you have…

High blood sugar
Can anyone shed any light on this? A bit of background. Before cancer I had packed on the weight by eating/drinking too much and exercising too little. (Little did I know that excess weight would soon be a good thing!) I weighed over 190 pounds when I should have been more like 160. After I had my first of three rounds of…

thyroid cystic lesion
I underwent my fifth CT scan post treatment yesterday and got the results today. I have some lung spots and those have remained unchanged now for over a year. The latest chink in the armour though is a "partially cystic lesion" 7X17mm of the thyroid. The report classifies it as stable and on comparison to last report…

Cancer Wars 3-Return Of The Carcinoma
I had surgery scheduled for the 21st, but they moved up the date and I had it today. I'm sitting here sore and a bit foggy, but I wanted to let you all know what happened. The small lump I found in my neck by my cheekbone turned out to be malignant and was the same type of cancer as the original that attacked my Parotid…

Two articles. One chef loses his taste and smell and 'Nil by Mouth'.
I sort of wondered what happened to Carlo Middione as I haven't seen him on the food scene for a while. I sort of figured it was just because I have been out of the food loop since 2007. My dad was cooking for me so I wasn't and then I didn't eat any food for nine months with the side effects from my radiation. Lemme just…

Lymph nodes taken out and swelling happens.Possibly for life.
Hi I am new at this site and am looking for someone who is experiencing the same as I am. Feb.8,2010 I had 25 lymph nodes taken out of the left side of my neck. I then had 30 days radiation. That took care of my saliva gland on that side. Also affected the bones under my teeth. So not to get cavities or have extractions I…

Vaccinating boys with Gardasil
Just thought I'd let you all know, I took my two sons (13 and 16) in to be vaccinated for HPV. I told her something she obviously did not…
