Recovery 2nd liver surgery
Hello, My dad is already home from his 2nd liver surgery. They got it out, it was 3,5cm big and I have the high suspicion that it was there at the beginning but not visible on CT and MRI or USG. I dont know what the doctors suspect. But they are careful. My dad said that he has a highly aggressive tumory maybe because it…

My dad and me been talking his last pet scan showed what there calling a " highly suspicious " for malignancy mass in his pelvis . It didn't grow since last pet scan and FDG uptake actually went down slightly so the radiation oncologist was stumped . He still wanted to do radiation but he admitted he couldn't say 100…

New scans? CEA and Ca19-9? What could it mean?
Hello lovelies. Sorry I don't reply to my posts but your replies mean the world to me. Can't even remember where I left off but my father had an abscess near the anastomosis after his resection so he was admitted to the hospital and put on IV antibiotics. After a few days the surgeon decided to give him a (hopefully)…

Anyone using icing of hands and feet during FOLFOX chemo to prevent neuropathy?
My cousin was just diagnosed with stage IV rectal cancer (liver mets). Will be having oxaliplatin, 5-FU, and leucovorin (FOLFOX) regimen. I've read that peripheral neuropathy is likely afterwards. I had great success with icing my hands and feet during Taxol/carboplatin chemo for uterine cancer. She's been told that this…

Anyone ever had or heard of this ?
So we meant with the radiation oncologist and got my dad's newest pet scan results and there confusing as always. There is still something highly sususpicious for cancer in his pelvis but the confusing part is that the FDG Uptake has went down since last pet scan and the " mass" isn't getting any bigger . Anyone else ever…

NED Again!
I had my blood work and CT Scan done this past week, and a visit with my Oncologist yesterday. He came in, beaming from ear to ear, with the good news that my scan was clear. It must be so nice, as an Oncologist, when he sees his Stage IV patients surviving. I can't comprehend how awful it must be to be in a profession…

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I usually post on behalf of my dad in the head and neck section (as he's a cancer survivor). But he's been having some issues the last few months that made me worried it's related to colorectal cancer. He has been experiencing excessive amount of burping. When I say…

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer - What indicators should I be tracking?

Good to still see some familiar names! I am now 5 years in.
I haven't checked in for a while on here, so I thought I would catch up a little. I had a couple years NED according to my PET scans, but I found out in the summer of 2019 that my cancer was just hard to detect, not gone. I had my third surgery in August that year and there are 40 some tumors that are only visible when you…

Why can't chemo cure cancer without surgery?
I am not a surgical candidate, so it makes me so sad that chemo alone can't get us to NED. I believe that one day it will be possible, and I am hopeful it will come in time for me. But it just makes me so sad that they always say you can't be "cured" without surgery. I am mostly positive, but I just found out my friend who…

Pet was a good decision UPDATE Surgery
Hello, The PET of my dad was a good decision. It found 2 small liver tumors. We dont know if they were there at the beginning, just too small to detect, or if they are new and grew in the last weeks. So, we have no idea of it was always there or if it is a relapse. He is now 2 mpnths without chemo so I think they are…
