New to this community-How to cope with what if's
Hello everyone. I am new here. My story began almost 4 years ago. I was diognosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. I had the usual major surgery and my surgeon was very pleased with the outcome. He felt strongly he had gotten all of the tumor. I then underwent nearly 8 months of chemo. During chemo I worked. I am not sure…

Home and surprised

I was totally taken aback. i am home very tired and no pain. I haven't had time to research any of it. The doctor said 7-8 days for results. Yolanda

Newbie Here - It's official
I'd posted in the Anal Cancer board last week but can't seem to find it. Since my primary doctor refered me to a "colorectal" specialist I figured I might have been posting in the wrong area anyway. After a colonoscopy on 2/26 with the discovery of a mass, subsequent biopsy, today they made it official. Malignancy -…

My update. Liver biopsy tomorrow
I've been a little quiet lately. During the week of NanaB's passing, I lost two additional people in my life. I lost my friend of 30 years. He passed away suddenly from heart problems. I also lost my uncle (by marriage). He was a doctor at the Mayo clinic. He was the second or third opinion in my cancer battle. I depended…

Well, it's yesterday's news now...but I did clear that major impaction. I never thought I could it was so bad...half a colon full of rock stool. It took 5 jugs of GoLytely...many chemical and warm water enemas, a couple of mag citrates...manual de-impaction to finally get it....it was a mess and one of the hardest things…

FOLFOX or FOLFIRI
Dear all: I just came back from my oncologist and my head is spining......... I was diagonosed with colon cancer stage IV with mets on the liver, november 2013. Did 1 year of FOLFOX every other week. I had surgery 2 months ago, they removed my primary tumor (the size of a greapfruit) from my sigmoid colon. I am feeling…

Sandy - did you get good scan results?
I hope so!

Do you prefer results face to face?
Just curious. My husband's doctor will not give scan results over the phone or email. Insists on face to face and the waiting drives me crazy. It would be my preference, and my husband's, to get the results as soon as they are available and have a chance to process things and then meet with her. I don't understand the…

I have an appt with Dr Gary Mann at Univ of Washington Medical Center tomorrow to talk about HIPEC, in my dreams I'll walk out of there with a surgery date. :) From all my reading and in the opinion of my med onc, I'm a good candidate For HIPEC. I have a ton of anxiety over the appt and am terrified, the surgeon won't…

Just was so pleased to see your post. Hope that you are doing well and hope that you continue to post on the boards again. You are a wealth of information. Not everyone agrees with alternative approaches but you were always so knowledgeable in your direction that you went and never forced anyone to only "see it your way"…

Still Here!
Wednesday, Feb 25th was the anniversary of my 11th year of living with cancer. As many of you know, and many "newbies" don't know, I've been in treatment pretty much non-stop. While it's been a bumpy ride, I've been very fortunate to have great Doctors as well as great luck. There's no secret thing that I've been doing at…
