I don't remember reading about them in the list of side effects, but today, day five from FOLFOX and day two from 5FU, I am having terrible stomach cramps. They come in waves, clenching just above the belly button. They are not constant. I'll have several within a few minutes then go half and hour or so. I'm not…

Disappointed *sighs*
Very disappointed. We decided to seek chemo treatment locally so that we don't have to travel an hour away every day the other oncologist. The local oncologist recommended placement of the port and then do 5 days of chemo with radiation. Good thing I'm working closely with a caseworker for our health insurance. Monday,…

Radiologist vs Oncologist
When meeting with the radiologist about my spleen he said that we should at another time do ablation to the spots on my liver and that he can help one with other spots as well. I have multiple mets. He cannot touch the lungs as there are too many spots and that I would still need to do chemo but let's take care of what we…

"The REPURPOSING of Our Lives In and Out of the Cancer World” - The Concept That Evolved Into an Ide
What is Repurposing? Well, Merriam Webster’s definition is: “To give a new purpose or use to.” What started out as an abstract concept has now evolved into an ideology that I firmly believe holds a great deal of promise in how we look at our own lives – our lives when we have cancer – and our lives when we don’t have…

Blue Scorpion Venom
Anyone have any experience with the Blue Scorpion Venom (Escozine)? This was one of the first things I tried, being a knee jerk reaction to my diagnosis. In hind sight, not the best investment as had no noticeable impact. May work in breast cancer and leukemia, but very little evidence that it works for colorectal. More…

low serum Vitamin D correlates with cancer - get tested
This is very significant and I urge you to get tested. Research points to a clear relationship between Vitamin D and cancer, including recurrance and survival. You should make sure your level is clearly above 30 ng/ml, at a minimum. Consensus among researchers suggest being 40 to 60 ng/l one scientific presentation here:…

Hi all. I was diagnosed with stage 2a in Aug 2006. Had resection and 4 rounds of chemo and am still NED. Just to let you know there is life after colon cancer. Supplements
My order of phospholipids arrived today. Another $900 well spent (or wasted as some would say), on a 2 month supply. Something new to add to my ever growing supplement list. Heard back from Hallwang
Sent them my medical records, and they responded with a tentative plan of treatment. It includes Removab, DC vaccine, and chemo-embolization for the liver, which is very similar to what they are doing for Pete. They also recommended additional genetic testing of my tumor(s), as well as some immunu-boosting therapies. All…
