Question about metastasizing.
I was checking to see anyone's input on this. Not my concern at this time, just checking. Does Rectal cancer ever recur further up the colon? Or, visa versa, does colon cancer ever recur in the rectum or anus? Since rectal cancer is sometimes treated differently and has different mortality rates is it considered metastatic…

STILL flogging a dead horse, vit d3 again, mainly for the newbies
http://www.naturalnews.com/037663_chemotherapy_drugs_vitamin_D_deficiency.html I know this is an altnerative news source, but its worth a read, gee we have discussed d3 here for years, I don't think its standard practice to be offered a top up by conventional onc's. they say 10,000 a day keeps the mets away. well it did…

5 year past!
It is a good morning. 5 years has now passed since my last chemo treatment and I am here to tell you all that I'm still dancing with NED (no evidence of disease)! I used to come here a lot 5-6 years ago and get help and support and everyone was such a big help. I also like to think I offered help and support for my sisters…

Anybody tried maple syrup/baking soda (Na Bicarb)?
Just read about this and there appears to actually be a few doctors using catheter delivery of Na Bicarb to treat cancer. The explanation for how it works is that cancer cells take up 15X more sugar than normal cells (why PET scans work), and then the Na Bicarb causes the cells pH to get really high which kills the cancer…

You Just Never Know... :(
Well everyone is in shock at work - our healthy, fit coworker (52 years old - my age) passed away in his sleep last night. No one could get much work done today after we were told the news. He was healthy, was at work on Friday. Went out of state this weekend due to his sister dying of ovarian cancer. Hospice was called in…

Almost clear colonscopy
Colonscopy this morning. Still amazed that after a double dose of meds they still couldn't get me "out". Rather crampy when he went around corners. He took one polyp out. Thinks it is benign :) and says if so he will see me in 5 years. No reason he could tell for the bleeding. Hasn't been an issue in a couple of weeks,…

4 years and still going
It has now been 4 years. Radiation, lots and lots of chemo interspersed with 4 surgeries. For now I have clear scans but a rising CEA. I think I have entered a long fight with a chronic disease. I enjoy these moments of no treatments and pray for a cure. Birthdays pass and now each one is a celebration of another year that…

My Scan Update ( My Caringbridge Report Entry)
Wednesday October 17, 2012: Well today was the day that I'd find out how my blood tests came out and what Dr. Donthireddy (oncologist) wanted from me for the next year. Just a recap last year she told me that I really didn't need a scan this year so in August when making the yearly appointment I called her to see if she…
