chemo brain?
I'm on my second treatment now. Should chemo brain be setting in already? I've been on my computer for about a half an hour all the while wondering what that bubbling sound is. I had forgotten that I put soup on the stove. My nausea seems to be better this time. Hooray! Also my water is tolerable at barely warm. Last time…

I was bad on my birthday
I have been doing a lot of walking (3.5 miles in 45 minutes every day) and trying to avoid fatty foods. I recieved a $50 gift card to a local eatery and ate a 1600 calorie meal. I hope a one time lapse doesn't hurt my body too much!!

Had a "moment" at class last night - Donna
I was at Zumba class and about half way thru the class I catch a glimpse of a young woman on the other side of the room- it just thunder-struck me the similar looks as Donna's picture she used here at the site- The bangs, the gorgeous smile, the shape of her face. I just kind of froze and teared up..took me a while to…

His name was Dylan Frick and was only 10 years old. He passed away from this horrible disease (brainstem glioma)two weeeks ago. I find…

Asking For Good Vibes
Everyone, please send out good vibes and warm thoughts for Johnnybegood. I spoke to her and she is having a down day. In addition to our worry of the upcoming liver surgery, her dad(my ex) is facing open heart surgery in the near future. My thoughts and love go out to both of them. Luv, Wolfen

Oxalipalatin question
Starting Xelox tomorrow and would like to know how long I have to avoid cold drinks/foods after the oxalipalatin treatment? Is it a few days after each treatment or for a longer period? Just curious because I'm in triple digit heat everyday and normally survive this inferno with iced tea, cold water, sugar free popsicles…

OT Gotta get out of Irene's way
Ugh. NJ has declared a mandatory evacuation of Cape May county for tomorrow. I was hoping it would just be a voluntary one and I could hunker down. Oh well, I stowed my outdoor stuff in the shed and now have to figure out whether to board the dog in PA and stay with my girlfriend or take the dog and stay with my sister.…

Calm before the storm/ Warning: questions about end of life
In my other post, I talked about how I am on a break from chemo after 9 treatments, and a lot of bad side effects. Now that I have been off chemo for approx 3 months, I have recovered and feel pretty good except for some occasional pain, severe neuropathy in my hands and feet, and chemo fog. Life is wonderful, compared…

In a Nutshell
I just got home from Nashville...........Not real good but I am still here, and as long as I can put 2 feet on a cool floor every morning all will be well, after that, well, I won't have much say in it anyway..... The path reports came back on the 2 areas that were "thought" to be inflammation. Turns out its cancer as well…

I am sort of new around here and to this dreadful disease. My husband was diagosed in Feb.(stage IV with large mets all over liver) this year.
