Did you know they can do surgery for lymphedema?
I didn't know that. A friend of mine was talking about it to me and she sent me this link from breastcancer.org about it. She said a woman just recently had it done. All I can say is..WOW It would be great if it works. Have you heard of it? http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/lymphedema/treatments/surgery

Anyone Out There in Middle of TC?
I am in the middle of TC chemotherapy. Thankfully, I only need four infusions. I just had my second one on Friday. I shaved my head on day 17 (to stubble, not completely bald). For some reason, my oncologist told me before therapy started that I probably would keep my eyebrows and eyelashes. Not so true. While the eyebrows…

Our cruise: from disappointment to joy!
The re-route on our cruise is FANTASTIC!! Overnight in Haifa (instead of one day in Haifa, next day in Ashdod) means that we can do Israel on our own...even staying in Jerusalem if we so desire....no 'bed check' with the ship!!! DANCING!!! Hugs, Kathi

Biopsy scheduled
After a mammogram and ultra sound, I have a biopsy scheduled next Tuesday for 3 lumps/masses in my left breast. They are described as "abnormal" (?) about 1cm in size. The initial report to my doctor noted that it does not "look like" breast cancer... but says they are not calicifications or cycsts. I'm not quite sure what…

A Couple of Thoughts - 'This' WILL happen and OLD threads
I have recently seen where once again many are posting that what they experienced IS what will happen to/with ALL - not true. Certainly it is great to pass on our personsl experience so that they are better educated as to the possibilities. We are each unique - in how we handle issues, our other health issues (if any…

Ask your Dr about getting seeyourchart.com
My Dr office has it you pick a user name and pass work and see your whole chart from home anytime you like. All your blood work, reports on scans, x-rays, Appointments, The only thing you can't see are pictures like scans, X-rays, I love it. And it takes all the guess work out of everything. Ask you Dr to get it. It's…

cysts on my liver
I have had a few scans over the past 3 years since my dx. A couple of scans ago they mention that there are cysts on my liver. The last scan I had it says that there are now 3 cysts on my liver but the others were unchanged. I have been researching this, of course! It sounds like it is normal and no big deal. The…

Newly Diagnosed
It has been a whirlwind start of the new year. I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the left breast on January 9th. I am scheduled for a mastectomy this Friday. I did not have any of the risk factors and was totally caught off guard. I have yet to decide what makes me more upset: having the CA, or having two…

Just saying Hey!
I have not been on the site for a while. It was good to see posts and pictures of those I haven't seen in a while. It has been three years since my cancer and everything is going well. I had to get another job in addition to my teaching position, so I am working 7 days a week. It gets old, but right now it is needed. I am…

can you get chemobrain without chemo?
It has been a long haul, over a year and a half, with 7 surgeries. Ever since my diagnosis, this cloud has come over my mind. It has been with me, but is getting better. Memory, decisions, just the most basic things have become difficult. I figure it is because the mental burden of bc, all the drugs, tons of anesthesia.…
