Had to shave my head today
15 days out from first chemo and when I got out of shower today my hair was just falling out in huge clumps. I though I was ready or this I had already cut my hair super short last week in anticipation of this day. But I was so not ready! Thank God my husband was off from work Today to comfort me, he shaved my head for me…

A different kind of good news
Hopeful news, anyway. It's now been 2 years since I completed chemo and still my hair still doesn't cover my head. It still looks just like the photo on my Expressions page 1 year ago. I've been to the dermatologist, had all kinds of tests done, and nothing. Bottom line, I had hair 2 1/2 years ago and now I don't have…

Pink Bus and Prayers Please
Is anyone up for a ride on the pink bus with me tomorrow? If not, prayers will work! I need to have an ultrasound of an area above my reconstructed breast. I've had some swelling/tenderness there for a couple of months and now found what my onc calls a nodule (I call it a pea sized lump). My onc is hoping it's fat narcosis…

How did you handle the first look after the bandages come off?
I have to take them off today and see my "new normal" for the first time. Am I going to need an Ativan? I am still in pain, but taking the Percoset. I guess it all can be forgotten with bandages snugly in the bra, but it will be a reality soon, so I am trying to prepare myself. How did you all face the first look?

good news

Update on Gabe N Abby Mom (Linda)
Just heard from Linda's friend: "No real changes right now. They are giving her antibiotic eye drops to see if the swelling is an eye infection, and her meds have been changed to Atavan to help her get some sleep and lessen the pain. Starting Arimidex Thursday after 2 years of Tamoxifen
I started Tamoxifen in August 2010. I have felt crappy the entire two years. Extreme fatigue, bone and joint pain, sick all the time, couldn't get out of my own way. Thursday 9/20, I am getting my first Lupron shot to shut down my ovaries, and I am starting Arimidex. I am a little nervous about the shot and a new medicine.…

Arimidex
Hi I have to start taking arimidex after 9 more rads. I was wondering if any one can tell me about any side effects they have experienced while taking it. I know it is different for everybody, but I would much rather hear from people that are experiencing it than from Dr that has never taken it. Thanks Patricia

scanxiety
Scans tomorrow. Three month follow up CAT and brain MRI. scans in July were NED and i can't stand the anxiety leading up to the tests and waiting for the results. and on top of it all I am worried sick about my oldest son. He broke his collar bone a few weeks ago and the Xrays showed something "suspicious". So he has had a…

expander pushing in ribs
I have had a bilateral mastectomy and am in the process of reconstruction. One expander is filled more than the other but does not appear to show more expansion. My reconstruction surgeon has said that it is pushing inward on my ribs due to the radiation from a 2004 lumpectomy and the skin on that side does not have the…
