From arimidex to fareston
Hi all! Hope your fourth of July celebrations were all fun! I have written before complaining about arimidex. I was on it for 4 months and I couldn't take it anymore. I tried everything in my power to make it work. I honestly hurt as bad as I did when I was going through chemo. So my oncologist gave me a month off of any…

I'm a mess-surgery on the 9th
I think my husband is more anxious to get this over with because I'm a mess. Bilateral mastectomy on Monday and I know there are people on this board that have gone through much, much worse. I still don't want to do it and I'm a mess. Maureen

Reconstruction after radiation
Hi all. I had a bilateral mastectomy with chemo and rads on one side following. Sometimes I think I would like reconstruction, but I wonder how successful people have been with both sides looking the same. Were there problems reconstructing the radiated side? Thanks, Lynn xoxoxox

Xeloda girls and boys please give your input
Hello my dear friends, I hope everyone is enjoying holidays. I took my first dose today, very anxious about side effects and efficacy of this chemo drug for me. Ginseng? for fatigue
There was an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer 6/26/12: "Ginseng boosts energy in cancer patients" that said the extracts seem to help combat cancer-related fatigue, one of the most common side effects of chemotherapy, and other treatments. The Mayo Clinic did a blind study in 2010 with 290 cancer patients and more…

Anyone read this book?
"Breast Cancer Husband" by Marc Silver. A friend suggested that John read it, and he got so much out of it and has been telling me what it said from time to time. It helped him a lot! I haven't read it yet, but he read it in about 3 days...he couldn't put it down. Just wondering if anyone else has read it? And wanted to…

Another Huffington Post pick-up! People dont die from BC or Prostate cancer any more!
If you read this link, Chris Collins in an interview stated that people don't die from Breast Cancer or Prostate cancer any more! Apparently he says what he wants and does not feel it necessary to check facts. This is about as good as the billboard ads that line I-15 through the Salt Lake City area stating that Breast…

Oncologist visit
I saw my onc this am and he pronounced me stable. My markers are virtually unchanged and he is satisfied, so I am too. Best news is that I don't have to see him for 3 months. :-) That makes me a total of 3 years since metastasis and 25 years since original diagnosis.

Struggling
It has been rather difficult to read some of the post on this board, in particular some of the people over the 6 -12 months who have gotten mets and some who have passed away. I have been trying for a few months to stick my head in the sand and believe all is well and hunky with myself, in some way that is true however I…

Triple Negative
Hi, I've just joined this wonderful group. I was diagnosed w/triple negative breast cancer on 3/2011. I completed my chemotherapy in 12/2011. Luckily I didn't have the nausea or vomitting many do. Main problems were leg pains which linger today, however, not close to how they were. I had my radiation done in the month of…
