weight gain with tamoxofin
Any body have any luck loosing weight while on the tamoxofin? I have gained 25lbs since Nov 2006 when I started it. Very depressing. I am a very active person. Not routine exercise, but yard work, cleaning, watching little ones. All of which I enjoy very much. I seem to have alot of energy, just can't seem to loose the…

Finally - let's get to the filling - how many cc's?
Well it's been 8 weeks. Had bilateral with tissue expanders. One week later had dead skin and had to have another surgery. 6 weeks later still had one spot on the bc breast that just would not heal so had yet another surgery. On Monday I finally go for my first fill. I have read that some people take muscle relaxers -- do…

woo hoo! 25% DONE!
So I had my port installed yesterday morning and had my first AC chemo in the afternoon! There were some delays in the morning (not due to me) that pushed my procedure out a couple of hours, then that roller-coasted with onc and chemo appointments. All told I was in the hospital for 13 hrs,and 37 min. All went well for me…

Taxol Leakage
Yesterday I received my last Taxol treatment. The nurse did not put the needle in well nor did she stay for the 15 minutes to ensure there were no side effects or check on me once during the 3 hours of treatment. It took a couple of tries as she missed the vein and did not secure it well with tape (I even questioned her on…

Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water, I was bitten by Jaws! So to speak...
If this post seems stilted, I trust you will forgive me! I copied and pasted it, with some parts removed, from a letter I emailed to my friends and family outside of CSN. And truth be told, I just didn't want to compose another letter~ I know all of my Kindred Spirits here will understand! I had my gallbladder removed on…

Radiation tattoo conversation starter
This is funny I think. One of my tiny radiation tattoos is several inches above my cleavage in the center of my chest. It is tiny, but I have had so many people say "I have to ask, what is that?" It just surprises me that people would be that curious or even notice something as tiny as a pencil tip. When I explain what it…

Just diagnosed and waiting to see my surgeon - question
I am 32 years old and was just diagnosed with breast cancer today. I am still in total shock. I was referred to a surgeon but the very earliest they can get me in for a consultation is 10 days from now. That seems like an eternity from now! Is it normal to have to wait this long just to get a consultation with a surgeon???…

I found a bra that is comfy for the expander girls out there
So, I have expanders in right now and I bought a couple of UGLY and overpriced bras from my ps office. I know that some of you were asking what to wear with the expanders and so on. Even though my ps would like for me to wear the bra during the day, most of the time I don't. It has like 6 hooks in the front and it is…

DIEP surgery
I'm scheduled for bilateral mastectomy with full breast reconstruction using the DIEP method on July 19. I've been reading posts from people that have had this surgery but I'm most concerned with how I will feel immediately after I wake up from the surgery. Are you so drugged up that you don't feel anything? Do you need to…

Another Update and Another Setback, Kinda!
My hands are clearing up slowly from the skin infection as a side effect of the Taxotere. After seeing the onc this past Tues. it was decided to keep me on Taxotere/Cytoxan but my dose has been reduced again and I'll have 2 chemo treatments on a weekly schedule and then off one week, in hopes that the skin infection…

Mike and Mary prepares to go to bed. They no sooner hit the pillow when ole Mike farts and says "seven points." Mary rolls over and says, "what the heck was that?" Mike replied, "its fart football." A few minutes later Mary lets one go and says, "touch down, tie score!" After about 5 minutes the ole Mike lets another one…
