Just a funny tale to make you laugh
My new picture shows me holding a beautiful metal possum - a Christmas gift from my son! Some of you have commented that I raised them right. Well, my eldest son always says this: We saw our Mama snatch up a 20 lb. possum by the tail with her bare hand and carry him from our garage into the woods. That was one scared…

My mom is waiting to have a d&c so they can take a biopsy to see if she has cancer. She had a thick endometrium of 6.7mm , and some spotting that only lasted a day we are all worried sick about her and she is already living as if she has it . I’m just wondering , if she does have it and it did spread to her ovaries and…

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, my warrior sisters! I am so thankful for another year to love and support each other. Thinking of those we lost this year and praying we will live with purpose and joy to honor all of them. Hugs to you (gentle hugs because I just got my port out and you have never seen such an enormous bruise on a human!)

5 Years NED
I was diagnosed with UPSC stage 3c in April of 2014. Five years ago I had just finished the last of my radiation which followed my chemotherapy. I saw my oncologist today and he declared me cancer free. He also stated that he thought I was also at a very low risk for reoccurrence. When I was first diagnosed I was…

Surgical Menopause Symptom Management
Hi All! I've been off the board for awhile, but thought I'd ask others who may have some insight into managing the symptoms of early meopause without HRT or products with sources of Estrogen. Soon after my surgery in August and seems since brachytherapy to be worse-I started having daily pain in hands, feet and hips. It's…

Beware of Etoposide
I was treated with etoposide and cisplatin. A year after this treatment ended I got Acute Myeloid Leukemia from the etoposide. The AML was the most difficult of my 3 cancers (breast and uterine cancers too) since 2015.

USPC recurrence, dealing with chemo again...
Hi all. As you may know, I'm dealing with a reccurance of USPC. I'm doing chemo again after just 9 months break. I know it's a different drug I'm doing this time. Last time I did taxol and carboplatin. This time doxil and carboplatin. I'm feeling it.... I'm so exhausted this time. Tried to go to the gym today, and ended up…

Lymphatic massage and/or compression machine
My lymphedema in legs is not really bad but enough to look puffy. PT has suggested a compression machine ( a large sleeve - one for each leg) that would be used once a day for one hour to reduce swelling. Have any of you tried or have one? My insurance will cover the cost but I am wondering if I really need it. Also, has…

Travel to foreign countries
This is a link to a good article about travelling after a diagnosis of cancer. This is written for Americans mostly but has good information. There have been a couple of posts about travelling to foreign countries lately. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2600098/ My cousin is Canadian and owns a condo in…

Remembering Pinky
It's kind of funny how different things happen to make me stop and think of those we've lost. For LuAnn, it's every time I see Eldri's sock monkey. News from Buffalo always makes me think of what happened to Lady Mox. Brissance's Peppermint Patti avatar. Today, all the snow from the storm just past has got me thinking of…

Vacation
Hi all. Its been a while. I was happy in NED land, butwas brutally torn away... I'm having my first reccurance of USPC :( It's in two lymph nodes in my pelvic area. I'm now doing doxil and carboplatin every 4 weeks for 6 sessions. Its a bummer indeed. Was looking forward to Christmas, as last year sucked. I was doing chemo…

follow-up after surgery for high-grade serous carcinoma?
Dear wonderful people on this discussion list, I have good news, I think: after surgery a week and half ago the pathology report said that the cancer had not spread beyond the uterine wall; the tumor was less than 1 cm, so it was caught early. The stage is listed as 1a. I'm really happy (ecstatic is more like it) with this…

derMaus--sad news
Hello, I am Deirdre, a friend of Bobbi (derMaus). I am so sad to tell you that Bobbi passed away on November 24. Though I was not with her, I was told by her cousin that she passed quietly and she was not in pain. Bobbi spoke often of the women on this board and how much of a lifeline you had been for her. You meant a…
