Problems with lymphocysts?
In June 2009 I had a hysterectomy for endometrial carcinoma. In July, my gyn/ono performed a lymphadenectomy via DaVinci and removed twelve nodes. Since that time, I have had a terrible aching at the top of my left thigh that starts to radiate into my hip and lower leg when I walk for an extended period (if you can call…

Time for a second opinion?
I am a cervical cancer survivor (26 months post treatment for IVA) and am wondering...is it time for a 2nd opinion? I recently had a pelvic MRI due to new abd. developments, which I had to request a transcript as my docs never contacts me with results. The report reads..."there appears to be a fibroid in the posterior body…

Hi, Ro, I just read in another posting that you have been receiving Social Security Disability. I applied for it about a month ago. After surgery I was Stage 3B Grade 2...the monster has metasticized further since then in spite of my 18 weeks of taxol and 6 carbo treatments, leading my med onc to say that it is a Stage 4…

Post menopausal D and C, no bleeding
I'm 57 years old, been through menopause naturally, but have had abnormal paps for the last two years. Since then have had 2 endometrial biopsys, 2 coposcopies, and one sonogram. All have shown nothing. Now my doctor wants to do a D and C. I have no symptoms of any sort, no bleeding, no pain, nothing. So I wonder what the…

To Norma 2
Norma, Hi! You mentioned you didn't have much trouble with white counts and ate whole wheat toast with cinnamon and apricots everday. Do you think this combo made the difference? Did you eat once a day or more? Please advise. Thank you! Hugs!

Finally received my 5th chemo on October 12th----also question about mono number
Friends, After two weeks delay for low platelets, I received my 5th chemo of taxol/carbo on Tuesday October 12th. My oncologist also lowered the dose a bit on the carbo due to the big platelet drop last time. The platelets jumped back up in this pastweek from 68,000 to 139,000. I didn't think that was possible. Thank you…

I lost my job end of May and I am still looking for a job right now. My original doctor would not do anything because I do not have insurance. So I decided that it was…

Any experience with Gemzar, Topotecan, Doxil, Avastin.
Hi all! It has been a while since I posted, however, my cousin and daughter recently did on my behalf. I thank those of you who assisted them. After 18 weeks of Taxol and 6 cycles (once every 3 weeks) of carboplatin (from April 28 to August 25), my cat scan results were quite devastating...numerous tumors throughout my…

Survived Breast Cancer four years ago.... now Uterine cancer
I am sincerely hoping I don't find about the "third time being the charm" having just gone through my second bout with cancer. First time was breast cancer four years ago (mammogram was normal until I asked about a suspicious mass under my armpit). This time pap smear was normal but I insisted on a sonogram which showed…

What is the neutrophil number that everyone's oncologist required for chemo
Hi all. I am curious what neutrophil number everyone's oncologist requires to do chemo-I am on taxol/carbo. My oncologist requires only 1.0---this is quite low as normal range is 2-7. Last chemo I dropped 1.3 on neutrophils so if you start out at 1 you have nowhere to fall but zero. I look forward to responses. Hugs to all!

evidence for "expectations determine outcome" sayeth connie
sisters, i was listening to our local pacifica progressive station this morning and heard an excerpt from a speech given by christine northrup, md, a woman's doctor and healer. she quoted from what she said was the best experiment she's ever heard of: women, i think middle aged, were asked what they expected their old age…

monitoring
Hi just had my 1 year pap done and the Dr ordered no tests other than a mamo and bone density and said see you in six months. I was wondering if this is normal protocol for someone who has endometrial adenocarcinoma stage 1b grade 1. I had no treatment other than hysterectomy with nodes removed and a pelvic wash, all…

Had my 'between chemos' NADIR lab work done today & learned something I wanted to share.
I'm getting Doxil 28 days apart and my oncologist is planning on drawing labs midway between my infusions as well as 'chemo days', so that he can see how I'm doing at my lowest point, my 'nadir'. Today I had my 1st 'between chemos' lab work done, a little late since he was off last week. My platelets were good and RBC only…

First 3 month appointment coming up
I have my first 3 month appoinment coming up on Friday and while I have read what to expect, I am a bit nervous-obviously because there is always a possibility that there may still be cancer. I did not have chemo or radiation as it was low grade and several oncologists believed it was not needed as I had a radical…
