Thyroglobulin level
If your thyroglobulin level is not at zero, doesn't this mean that you still have microscopic cancer cells somewhere in your body? My husband has had 5 re-occurances in the past 13 years, he has never been at zero. Our 16 yr old daughter, also with papillary carcinoma, had TT last June, and I-131 in July 2010. Recently, at…

Hi, all. I don't post often, but I've learned a lot from reading this board. Anyway, I need to communicate with people in the same boat as I am in. I had a total thyroidectomy in November 2010, RAI in December 2010, and yesterday my endo called and said that the last biopsy shows that I have 2 cancerous lymph nodes that…

Hello Y'all. I had my TT on 2/7/11 so it is going on my 3rd week. I am having an issue with swallowing... It appears that the I have a permnant "frog" in my throat. This…

Hurthle Cell Thyroid
I have recently been diagnosed with Hurthle Cell thyroid. I have a consultation tomorrow and hope to get some answers to my questions. My doctor told me I could wait to have my surgery until May or after my daughters wedding. Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter as I am concerned about waiting that long?

Thyroid Cancer and Hashimotos
This board is not where I spend my time, so I apologize if this information is common knowledge here. I just learned that EVERYONE who has thyroid cancer has Hashimoto's. There is a very comprehensive book out there about this condition and how to address the autoimmunity instead of just treating the symptoms with thyroid…

Recent TT and Upcoming RA-131 Treatment
I was diagnosed on 12/28/10 with Papillary Carnicoma by my Endocrinologist via an FNA a week before. The nodule/tumor was 1.57 cm in size. He had some referals to Surgeons but they weren't amoung those "in-network" through my healthcare provider. Researching for a Surgeon was tough, but eventually found one. I had a TT on…

Good Scan
Had my scan today after my RAI. I took up the RAI and the doctor did not see any signs of metastasis. It was very strange looking at the uptake scan. I was shocked at how much my liver absorbed. Seems that it took the majority of the I-131 along with the Thyroid cells. My throat is killing me however and I feel like I've…

Just starting my journey - and looking for some help!
Thanks in advance for taking a quick 5 mins to help me find some well needed answers. I am a 36 year old male and my recent FNA results showed signs of Hurthle cells. The nodular is less than 1cm. I wanted to see if anyone else has: 1) a Hurthle cell nodular that was benign once removed? 2) a story of a nodular or tumor…

Thyrogen injections vs going hypo
I need help! I'm scheduled to have my second round of RAI treatment in March. My doctor wants me to go off my meds next week. I had my first round in November and only then started on thyroxine. I'm just feeling normal again and am dreading the thought of having to go hypo again. I'm also afraid I won't be able to keep…

178.3 mCi's of I-131 today
Well, it's done. I took my dose about an hour and a half ago. Of course traffic was heavy getting home and I really had to pee. I think just knowing that I couldn't stop to pee made me want to go even more. The good news is that I can eat anything I want in about forty-six and a half hours (but who's counting). Yeah! Julie
